In modern society, it has become increasingly difficult to avoid the growing world of technology. Everywhere we look, people are using cell-phones, laptops, tablets, and more throughout their daily lives. Today, the world has entered the age of information technology, and society is both accepting, as well as adapting to the changes this new age brings. Electronic communication, for instance, is one aspect of this new age that has continued to rise in prominence over the years. Electronically communicating within the work environment adds many new possibilities, and can be considered a tool of the future with the potential to transform interaction within any and all places of work. Electronic communication in the workplace had become more important in society beginning in the late twentieth and early twenty-first centuries. For the most part, jobs and occupations have succumb to the changes brought on by the age of information technology, and use some form of electronic communication within the work environment. For example, today, it is more common to send an email to a coworker than to talk face-to-face, or to use a form of technology to complete a collaborative task with colleagues from a distance rather than meeting in person. Workplaces are finding more and more ways to integrate electronic communication into the daily work routine. This, as a result, is creating social change within the work environment. Electronic communication has allowed for faster, easier, and more convenient ways to communicate detailed ideas or information. The teaching and education field, for instance, can be presented as an example of how electronic communication has made its way into the teaching profession and classroom. Today, teachers are using more and more forms of electronic communication to interact and work with their students. In addition, communicating electronically has become the norm for reaching students, parents, administrators, and other colleagues. Since there are so many large schools all over the world, professors are looking for ways to incorporate engaged learning into the classroom. Engaged learning is one way that professors can know whether or not a pupil is comprehending the concept or not, and electronic communication is being used to help aid in ensuring student comprehension. One way this is being executed is through the medium of classroom communication system, or CCS, which is a form of electronic communication. CCS can be defined as the use of technology to work, reply, and discuss information quickly and easily within a classroom, such as displaying collective responses and utilizing anonymous voting system for the entire class.
