Since new data is always being entered, eventually you will need a bigger database, which means you will need a bigger computer to hold the data. DBAs also will have to modify the databases if a new category of information needs to be recorded. And the most important duty of a DBA is protecting the data. Security is of paramount importance for a database administrator. Hackers will go to extreme lengths to breach private information.
