For the purpose of this research study to review the continuality of hitting the snooze button after the alarm goes off can cause issues in sleeping patterns and the drive to get up from the bed to begin a virtuous morning. The goal within the target behavior of excessively hitting the snooze button too much is to limit the number of times the snooze button is pressed to about half of the individual’s baseline average. Many issues of excessively hitting the snooze button can be a cause of lack of sleep the prior night, this can be a vast issue for many individuals that are in need of an extra couple of minutes to sleep in order for them to be fully assured that they are able to get out of bed fully rested. I have a few proposed treatments that can be a huge factor that may actually change the way the individual sleep and gives the individual an opportunity to cut the baseline average in half then eventually have the possibility to totally modify that behavior.
Introduction
The snooze button is an accessory that comes with most alarm clocks and many phone alarms also, the snooze button is meant to give someone the opportunity to sleep for a couple minutes more in order for the individual to have a supplementary amount of time to regain energy to begin the day. Although within the positive notion the snooze button also has its downfalls, the snooze button allows the individual to strike it as frequently as he/she wants. This can cause a factor where the individual will constantly strike the snooze button and fail to recall that he/she has slept for an efficient amount of time and usually an excessive behavior where they fail to wake up in a timely matter for vital situations that are in need to wake up for. With the target ...

In conclusion, the snooze button is an accessory that allows the individual an opportunity to have an extra time window to sleep for a selected amount of time. Although with the luxury of the snooze button this also can cause a factor of that many individuals will abuse the snooze button and begin a behavior that can affect their entire day, this target behavior can cause sleep disorders and also the issue of continual snoozing strikes. Many individuals due to the lack of sleep the night before suffer also throughout the day trying to exist throughout the day extremely exhausted. Lack of sleep is the main issues of the target behavior of the striking of the snooze button that can be modified in the factors of how many times the individual strikes the snooze button.
Having no sleep can lead to unhealthy lives, relationships, one’s ability to function and interact with the world, and an unbalanced state of body, mind, and spirit. Sleep is crucial to an individual because it is a time where the body rests and restores energy and develops important information and without sleep, the body will slowly disintegrate. Poor sleep quality often is associated with Insomnia, but the two are two different items. Poor sleep quality is where an individual does not get at least 4 hours of sleep, but is still able to sleep and does not have a normal sleeping cycle. Insomnia is classified as a sleeping disorder, where one persistently lacks the ability to sleep or maintain sleep. This paper goes into a deep discussion of what Insomnia is and the two different types, the causes of Insomnia and how it affects a person’s lifestyle, a comparison between Men and Women who have Insomnia, and possible treatments to aid this disorder.
In the updated graph, my sleep time is slightly lower at 308 minutes a night. As explained in Part C, my intervention is very much contingent on my school and work schedule. Therefore, the sleeping duration recorded shows a sign of negative outcome since there are many things to do and study for near the end of the semester. Part of my intervention was to remind myself that I should get ready to sleep by using the alarm on my phone. During the project, I identified a facilitator that I believe was helpful to support my sleeping habits.
Millions of people suffer from the same tossing and turning every which way, getting their sheets all disarranged and their insistent minds abundantly worse. Patients often proclaim indications of insomnia while sitting in the family health clinic. Insomnia traits include hindrance falling asleep, continueing to awaken, and rejuvenating before wanted. One may suffer from insomnia if one shows signs of an increased difficulty in attentiveness, decreased communal or scholastic skills, and a diminished mood or enthusiasm. (Foldvary-Schaefer 111). Countless individuals deal with insomnia for a large amount of their lives and some choose differing treatments, while some do not use any treatments at all. While never being uncommon, the amounts of causes leading to insomnia come in boundlessly; finding new studies and stories every day.
Sleep hygiene and stimulus control are non-medical treatments for insomnia that includes simple steps that may improve
Sleep is one of our basic needs to survive and to function in day to day operations, but not everyone needs the same amount of sleep. Some people can survive on very little sleep, i.e. five hours a night, and some people need a lot of sleep, to the extend that they are sleeping up to 10 to sometimes 15 hours a night (Nature, 2005). According to Wilson (2005) the general rule states that most people need from seven to eight hours of sleep. The deprivation of sleep in our society in continually increasing with the demands in society increasing work loads, the myth that a few hours of sleep is only necessary to function properly and that sleep is sometimes considered as killing time (Nature, 2005). Sometimes sleep deprivation is also caused by other situations like sleep disorders, i.e. sleep apnea, chronic insomnia or medical conditions such as stress (Wilson, 2005).
Around 40 million (Sleeping Disorder Statistics, 2012) Americans suffer from chronic sleeping disorders, regardless of their age. Some common disorders are insomnia, narcolepsy, and sleep apnea. Individuals who suffer from insomnia have a difficult time falling asleep and staying asleep, resulting...
Set your alarm at least an hour before you really need to get out of the bed. If you set the alarm for an earlier hour you get to hit the snooze button few extra times. After the third hit, you should have awakened enough to actually rise out of the bed. Fix yourself a cup of coffee, sit on the sofa, and stare into space at least fifteen minutes, but no more than thirty. This gives you time to not think about all that you have to do today.
Insomnia Almost everyone experiences insomnia now and then. When one believes he must be in bed by a certain time every night or that he needs a certain number of hours of sleep, it may be the very thing that is preventing him from going to sleep (Munson 21). It is unfortunately true that many people still suffer from poor sleep but do not know that there are numerous programs that can help them. Insomnia, which is due to various causes and includes a vaiety of symptoms, can be reduced or eliminated in a number of ways. Stress is one of the main causes in determining insomnia. It is a fact of every day life and can be defined as any event which causes a significant emotional response. Happy occasions such as getting married, promoted, or going on a vacation can cause stress reaction, not only because because participation in the event is occurring but also in the preparation. More obvious events that occur throughout one's life are the loss of a job, a loved one, or the need for surgery. In such major life changes, the sources of the emotional response is much more easily identified (Shapiro MacFarlane Hussain 49). There are two types of stress: bad stress or negative stress which destroys your ability to operate at capacity, mentally and physically and good stress which improves your performance (Shapiro 49-50). There are different ways to reduce stress. One should try to find a job he really enjoys. It is not the stress of work that wears one out but the stress of frustration and failure. Two big causes of stress on the job are not knowing what is expected and not having adequate facts or tools. Escaping for a while is another method to help eliminate stress. One can visit a friend, go to a movie, or shop. When he returns, he can attempt to cope with the problem. However, it does not help to keep escaping, the individual should try to cope with problems as promptly as they arise (Hauri 111). Even though it is often difficult to make changes in lifestyle, the effort is worth it. Exchanging stress for a sense of control can lift a heavy weight from one's shoulders. The more control one has over his life during the day, the more likely it is that his night time sleep will become satisfying again (Hauri 113).

Social Media has brought on an epidemic of sleep deprivation to people of all ages. All through the night they wake with the “beeps” and “dings” of new messages. They have been craving the sound of a new message and when it comes, no matter what time of the day (or night), they are quick in responding to whatever and whoever the message may be about. This addiction has been kept in-check but with the cost of a good night’s sleep. Today’s generation has been leaving the thought of sleep behind only to lose valuable relaxation time. Many people “…text, tweet, check messages, and post things right before sleeping” (Addiction). This had been proven to “…reduce melatonin in the brain” (Addiction) thus taking away minute by minute of our precious sleep. We put our phones down when we think necessary and go to sleep only to be awaken again within the next half-an-hour. The fact that we keep our devices on through the night does not help our case.
Important public policy issues have arisen in our modern 24-hour society, where it is crucial to weigh the value of sleep versus wakefulness. Scientific knowledge about sleep is currently insufficient to resolve the political and academic debates raging about how much and when people should sleep. These issues affect almost everybody, from the shift worker to the international traveler, from the physician to the policy maker, from the anthropologist to the student preparing for an exam.

An unrelenting wave of exhaustion washes over all of humanity each day, right around 1 p.m. The battle to stay awake is often lost, as students nod off in the midst of class, and adults attempt in vain to keep their eyes open through mind-numbing business presentations. In response to this universal somnambulance, people usually ingest caffeinated beverages and saccharine snacks to artificially boost energy levels. However, studies show that a more holistic solution lies in something simple, free, and extremely effective in staving off tiredness: napping. Taking an afternoon siesta greatly benefits health, cognitive ability, and maintaining focus and productivity.
Today, I hope to persuade each of you to take care of our sleep duration as it may affect our daily life.
When the alarm goes off in the morning, my first thought is, fuck, this is way to early. Then I open my eyes; look at my alarm clock and wonder, if I hit the snooze button, would I get up after five more minutes. The answer to that is always no, I need to get up now, or the kids will be late to get to the bus. After fifteen to twenty seconds of debate in my own head, I lift my head off my pillow. I twist to the right and sit up at the same time. Then ...
