Hey Tawanda,
I completely miss understood proctoring hours. I was under the impression that a student could take a test any time during the day as long as they give me three to four days notice. If a student need a time after 4 p.m., they had to call three to four days ahead of time and Ray could proctor them on a Tuesday or Thursday.
Also, I would like to know what do I need to ask if they need a test proctor. Are there are any papers a student need to sign when they need a test proctor? I know about the course assignment cover sheet they sign right before the test. Really, if you could just send me and thing that I would need to know about proctoring would be greatly appreciated.
I do not have access to the tests. I have a student that
wants to take a test on next Tuesday at 3:00. The student name is Cameron Covington and needs a STAT 330 proctored (teacher: Corrine Wilson). He originally wanted 10:30 a.m., but I told him proctoring hours were from 3-7 on Tuesday. I took his number and told him I would call him back if anything needed to be changed. Thanks in advance,
Fill in your name and social security number on this examination and your scan sheet.
This is important because colleges and university educators rely on peer tutors to provide supplemental instruction to its students. As stated previously, this training guide provides educators with real life examples and evaluation tools for the peer tutor and tutor coordinator.
- Students with different academic skills are being tested the same. Honors students take the Regents exam. Some find it too easy while other students find it too
The test taking lessons have helped me learn more about having good strategies for a test. I feel that with these lessons learned I can have more confidence to take a test and pass it. In this report I want to show why test taking is an important skill to learn. I also wanted to describe how I have prepared for test in the past. I also wanted to discuss three strategies I have learned from the computer tutorial in class and how I have changed my study habits so I can do better on test.
Describe any experience you have working in a testing environment? To include proctoring, adminstering and enforcing rules and what types of testing was involved.
of the pretest needs to be more scrutinized. Students must understand the purpose of the pretest that scores do not count toward a grade, and that know that the result of the test is not to achieve high performance in a competitive realm...
Over the course of this class I have pieced together many things about my own life that before went unnoticed. I am now able to see things in a bit of a different light. Now that I have been introduced to the realm of psychology I understand some of the reasons for behavior around me. I have learned that there is a reason for most everything and a lot of our behaviors and mental processes can be explained through psychology. Studies have been conducted for many years to try and pinpoint the source of our behavior and it is not something that most people think about every day. Having a better understanding of why we operate the way we do will help me to better understand myself and the others around me.
As the student walks into the room, pencil in hand, they prepare themselves mentally. The student is ready to do their best, to prove that they have learned from their classes and studied enough to perform well. The student sits and waits and is eventually handed a test booklet and answer key and is read some instructions on how to fill out the test. They are told not to move on to the next section when they are done, not to go back to any other sections of the tests, and the amount of time they will receive to take the portion of the test. Standardized tests are a big part of many students lives, often in their high school years. Many students deal with tests each week or even day and have become very accustomed to them. However, some students do not enjoy them or believe that they are a waste or involve too much stress. While some believe that standardized testing is unfair and involves only memorization, it is one of the most familiar and clear ways to test the knowledge
A group that was a significant part of my high school identity was Student 2 Student, the drug and alcohol-free club at Glenbrook South. The club’s goal was to create a safe and comfortable environment in which students can abstain from the use of drugs and alcohol while connecting with other people who share the same beliefs as them. Through Student 2 Student, I was able to meet others from GBS that I would have never met, and I was fortunate enough to become acquainted with some of the most supportive people in my life. A social club, Student 2 Student survived because of the familial atmosphere that was created within it. There was a bond shared between the leaders and members, allowing everyone to have fun while making healthy decisions
Proctors must not have conflicted interests or any vested interest in how the student is graded on the exam. Finally, they must have reliable access to the internet, including email services.
In taking the multiple choice practice test over one hour I answered 30 questions correct out of 54. I feel like I did not do the best that I could on this test but at the same time it has given me insight to what I need to work on harder for the actual test.
In the world of education, assessments play an integral role in student learning. To get the most out of assessments, they must be aligned with the standards, accurately measure what students know, as well as promote student learning (McTighe and O’Connor, 2005). In order to do this, it is important to include students in the assessment planning process. This should begin at the beginning of a unit with the pre-assessment and should be carried throughout the formative and summative assessments. Dr. Anne Davies believes that “when students are involved in the assessment process, they are more engaged and motivated, and they learn more” (Davies, 2007, p. 31). In my interdisciplinary unit, I attempt to include students in every stage of the assessments
June first--the last exam is today. There has been one exam every day since Monday, which seems as if it was an eternity ago. Every class at school requires homework, quizzes, tests, and finally, a final exam. We take exams to prove ourselves--to prove we have advanced our education during the past nine months. In one and a half to two and a half hours, nine months of homework, quizzes and tests must be summed up. How are the nine months summed up? Usually by a series of written questions that were probably compiled from the homework, quizzes, and tests we have already completed. There are better ways of proving knowledge.
Right as the class began the teacher had all the students separate just as if they were taking a major exam. The quiz consisted of ten questions, a few were multiple choice, a few were fill in the blanks and the rest were short answer questions. The students were given half the period to finish the quiz before they would begin lecture. The teacher explained to me that she uses this sort of an assessment because it lets her know what the students are struggling with before an exam without making a huge impact on their current grade. She says once she grades the quizzes she will again go over any information that the students missed on the quiz to make sure that they fully understand the subject
As I reflect on my past assessment process, I realized how much my assessments have changed over the years. In my early years, I used tests for informational recall as my assessments. I felt these were appropriate guidelines in which I needed to follow in order to substantiate a student’s grade. Every assignment or tests was given a point value and then based on the amount of points, a grade was given. Every student’s assessment was exactly the same, and the assessments did not contain any subjectivity. I felt confident in giving the grade based on a valid point system. However reflecting back, I see that I did not include any performance-based assessments or individual learning styles in my early assessment. I also did not take into consideration the individual needs of my students. My assessment approach was awful. I am embarrassed that I use to assess students in this manner.
