In the contemporary American education system high-stakes standardized testing has resulted in a focus on extensive test preparation, as well as a large increase in the numbers of teachers cheating by alternating their students' test scores. Both these phenomena are a direct consequence of the incentives and punishments directly linked to standardized test results.
Manage seatwork: Seating will strategically be set up to accommodate the assignment and allow for student monitoring. Students will be advised of the appropriate rules during seatwork, such a raising their hands for questions. As younger students tend to have a shorter attention span, seatwork will be set up at short intervals to prevent off task behavior. Moreover, frequent circulation will also be done to not only aid in preventing off task behavior, but to ensure students understand and thus are able to successfully complete their assignments with confidence. Furthermore, as younger students are beginning to develop and/or understand the value of intrinsic rewards, positive encouragement and praise will be part during circulation monitoring, which will also promote a positive learning environment.

Teachers gather information everyday form student’s through classroom activities to get a picture of where a student’s progress and abilities are. There are many different ways to collect a child’s artifacts such as using a checklist, anecdotal notes, teacher reflections, video and audio recordings, and work samples. Each student has their own folder where all their notes, videos, recordings, and artifacts are kept. As stated in the text (Enz, 2014, p. 207, “They must systematically collect, store, organize, and analyze the samples in order to understand the children’s growth and to plan their next teaching” (Ackerman & Coley, 2012). I learned that an on-demand assessment is more like an annual physical checkup. On demand assessments happen at specific times during the course of the year. One day children will be asked to do something specific such as circle the numbers the teacher says out loud, or having to take a test with a pencil and paper. Some label on -demand assessments as tests. This is because children are asked to perform the same action at the same time and in the same manner during an on-demand assessment. “Standardized tests are administered, scored, and interpreted in the same way for all test takers” (Enz, 2014, p. 208). Some examples of an on-going assessment that could be used in a comprehensive approach to literacy
Since I was young, there is something electrifying about receiving mail, and this was amplified when I would receive mail from my future home. I would jump up and down if anything related to Oklahoma State University was addressed in my name, even if it addressed bursar or something routine. While receiving this mail, I never stopped to think about the individuals that created the cards to make me feel so happy; however, while job searching, I found a wonderful internship that takes place right here on the Oklahoma State campus. This internship is for creating flyers and images for future students. Job searching is not an easy task; however, Oklahoma State’s Hire OSU Grads organization creates a straightforward and accessible way for students to find jobs or internships. I have found an internship that would be great for furthering my experience in the work world. In this internship, I would be working directly on campus in the Office of Undergraduate Admissions. I would create graphics, mail flyers, brochures, and post on social media. In addition, this internship would help me grow as a business major; I would be able to obtain
