SWOT Analysis
Team strengths include communicating our common goals. We problem solve and manage our time well. We use collaboration when deciding how to integrate our ideas. Our team learns from our mistakes and improves for next time.
A weakness of our team is that our schedules conflict often. During meetings, we tend to occasionally get off task. Our communication with our client, Clay, could use improvement and we could be in touch with him more often.
We gained exposure working as a team and real life marketing experience. To help grow a local business. Helping Clay solve his problems gave us the opportunity to look at the clients perspective. It is interesting for us to watch this local business to grow to test our potential. We are motivated because we want to prove to ourselves that a small group can make a large impact on a businesses success.
A threat could be the chance that for some reason our group does not get along with our client, Clay. Running out of time is a potential threat to our success. Our team members not prioritizing this project could lead to us being unsuccessful.

Communication is a very effective way of get things resolved. What we do at my work place, all staff have weekly meetings about positive and negative situations that have been encountered during the week. I find this very helpful because concerns or new ideas are brought. And we move al move along in the same page.
My five greatest strengths according to the StrengthsFinder survey are activator, restorative, achiever, command and relator, in rank order. Upon reading about these strengths, I can see how I have used and will continue to use them. I was aware of these strengths, for the most part, but while researching I was able to learn a few things. One article that stood out to me was “Don't let your strengths become your weaknesses” (Kaiser, & Kaplan, 2013). In this article, the possibility of strengths becoming weaknesses when overused was discussed. The authors explained how overdoing can be just as purposeless as under doing. The ability to read and respond adeptly is crucial in handling challenges, they explained. As with everything else in life, balance is key!
When composing a team, it is also very important that you choose a leader and team members who are passionate about working hard to accomplish the task or goal. All team leaders cannot be lucky when it comes to composing the “ideal” team. If there is a situation where the team leaders has to work with people who aren’t ideal, it will take hard work and dedication to train those individuals into being successful at their task. In a diverse team of individuals, everyone plays a different role, and has a specific purpose. Composing teams who know how to play off of each other’s strengths compensates for one another’s weaknesses, which shows team diversity, but is also a source of greater productivity and success. The team leader’s job is to identify the skills and experience needed and either find those team members, or train those who you already have that you can depend on.
