Henry Mintzberg (1994) refers strategy to a plan, pattern, position and an action implemented to derive at a desired result. It can also be defined as a set of rules and regulations to be followed to achieve at the targeted goal. The term ‘Teaching Strategy’ can be defined as “a set of rules and regulations to be followed by the teachers to achieve the desired goal”. The researcher throws light on various aspects that a teacher should acquire to be successful role model for the students. She insists on the following attributes to be inherited by the teacher in order to be a perfect role model, they should be physically, mentally fit and need to think study and act as per the requirement, need to listen to their own inner voice to solve the problems and find solutions in order to guide the students, they need to be inspired by their own nature and thus teach the students to survive in hard time at the different phases of human life, expected to read beyond lines for the welfare of the society which would in turn help to share someone’s sorrow and learn to work in collaboration to celebrate success and share the drawbacks together on a healthy and common platform. Should also learn to write creatively to guide the students and need to teach the next generation to acquire mental peace, pure joy with least materials for pleasant
Teachers should be a positive influence on their student’s lives. They should not only teach them the basic subjects, but also try to make them become better people by being involved with them. Some parents don’t care how their children act and don’t try to help them overcome problems such as shyness; therefore it is left up to the teacher to help these students. This is where the teacher should become a friend and role model for the students.
...ique ability to act as role models for students. If the main goal for schools is to transfer democratic ideals and engender critical thought to students, then teachers must epitomize these ideals and practice critical thinking. This means constantly analyzing all behavior and always avoiding making assumptions regarding curriculum and class exercises. Additionally, my students will trust my decisions and judgment when they have a perception of me as an expert in my field. For example, a person will trust the writing tips of a teacher when that teacher has published a book before. Teachers who can create a professional persona for themselves will legitimate their roles as authority figures or experts in their field. Moreover, students need to see their teachers have an active role in our local communities, especially those that directly affect the school community.
In this paper I will be addressing three challenges that are involved with ensuring that teaching strategies are
One of the most important skills that students need to learn is how to learn. Knowing specific techniques and strategies to help with learning can enable students to become strategic, effective, and lifelong learners (Sturomski, 1997). Strategies used for learning can be simple or complex, cognitive or metacognitive. Simple strategies are strategies that many of us use. Simple strategies may include asking questions, taking notes, or rereading a passage that is confusing to us. Complex strategies, on the other hand, may be a set of several strategies used together. For example, a complex strategy for writing might include three simple strategies of prewriting, writing, and editing. Each complex strategy includes several simple strategies in and of itself. Strategies can also be categorized as cognitive and metacognitive. Cognitive strategies help a person process and manipulate information. Much like simple strategies, cognitive strategies are very task-specific and are useful when learning and performing certain tasks such as filling out a chart and answering specific
Touching lives and affecting the outcome of so many futures a teacher is the epitome of a leader. Just as a leader has his or her own style, a teacher’s way of motivating his/her students, also plays an important role for a students success. Spending more time children then most parents do, a teacher is crucial in shaping with children of the future. If teachers are poor leaders then children suffer. When they shine as leaders, children blossom and the universe is wide open. As a teacher must fine tune their leadership skills and find the best style of teaching for the students who they are teaching. The intrinsic characteristics of a teacher can be categorized into a few main teaching styles or leadership styles. Directing, participating, delegating, and combined styles are the main forms of teaching and leading. The qualities associated with these styles are necessary to any teacher. The purpose ...
P.E. teachers must also encourage creative ability and the importance of overall health, socially, physically and emotionally. I feel that if a student has a good role model than they can achieve success in all of the areas mentioned.
In this way, it is of the utmost importance that the student can have a good role model whom they can trust.

The dynamic rule for implementing instructing in a diverse class to English-learners is to use resourceful life skills such as diligence, hard work and patience. Moreover, I believe every child in a classroom has something to offer. Every child entering the classroom has potential, the potential to bring something extraordinary and unique to the world. The classroom environment and the teachers need to be role models for students who allow them to grow morally, individually, spiritually and socially. Like Aristotle has said, teacher’s need to ingrain morals in students, and it is with education and learning we develop such values.
Thus, the book answers numerous practical questions that teachers have often struggled with; for example, how to increase the chances of academic success for language learners, how to use technology to teach language effectively, or how to teach language and content material concurrently. From the preface, the author makes it very clear that the book is designed to support language teachers in their journey as new teachers and throughout their teaching careers. In total, the book contains eleven chapters, which have been divided into four parts. The first part, "What Do Language Teachers Think About?" includes topics of foreign/ second language acquisition theories and language teaching methodologies. This part introduces the background knowledge readers will need in their journey as language teachers. The second part, "How Do You Teach a Language?" introduces approaches to teaching and learning that improve students’ writing, listening, speaking and reading abilities. Each chapter in this part includes suggestions for how students can be motivated and describes teaching and testing approaches to assess students ' language skills and academic literacy. The third part, "How Do I Know What to Teach?" is instrumental in helping teachers adopt teaching practices to particular teaching settings. The fourth part, "Where Do I Go from Here?" helps teachers gain a clearer perspective of what language teaching is all about; this section also considers teacher 's self-assessment and personal
Teachers serve as the guiding force in a student’s life. They are responsible for molding a student’s personality and shaping his/her mental orientation. Teachers deeply impact our lives and direct the course of our future. One cannot deny the influence of teachers in one’s life. In fact, it would not be an exaggeration to say that, till a certain age, out life revolves around our teachers. They are our constant companions, until we grow old enough to come out of their shadow and move ahead on our own.
A teaching strategy as defined by VTDI (2012) is any way of conveying information to students to enable them to learn in order to achieve a particular educational purpose. Teachers are placed in classrooms to achieve the nation’s educational targets as set out in curriculums. They use various methods to deliver instruction and engage students in learning activities.
In most institutions of learning today, the classes are made up of students from different ethnic backgrounds. These have different traditions and also speak different languages. In a typical classroom, the majority of the students will speak the same language. The teacher must then employ strategies which will accommodate all the students in the class. This will ensure that every learner gets the best quality of education. This will enable them to be better prepared for career and expressing themselves. In this paper, strategies to assist learners of the English language in their literal development for third grade learners. In the paper, three strategies that can be used by the teacher will be discussed. New strategies and research that will help the English language learners to gain in depth mastery of the language will also be discussed. Due to the widespread learning of the English language in most schools, addressing issues of the language learners is of vital importance. Teachers should have the understanding that cultures are what give someone identity and therefore no student should leave their culture for another. Instead, there should be the blending of different cultures so that students can appreciate and learn from each other.
Approaches to teaching English language for foreign speakers have undergone drastic changes through the last fifty years. There has been a transition from traditional methods such as grammar translation method to audio-lingual and more recently to communicative approach and eclectic method. In modern approaches to teaching English as a second language (ESL) the emphasis is on cooperation and collaboration of language learners through the process of language acquisition. Language materials are designed in a way to facilitate and encourage active participation of the learners and in fact they call for cooperation and collaboration between teachers and students. This new approach demands the teachers to adopt new strategies which are more collaborative in nature. Therefore, the traditional practice of learning to teach in isolation may no longer serve as the best vehicle for providing an effective environment in which all participants of the activity can engage in productive practices.
