All teachers, no matter what experience they have, need to learn themselves, not just teach. They need to know how to use modern and effective methods of teaching for the ever evolving time they are in, and be open-minded when students may need help. Catering to an entire class can be difficult, as there are many things to consider, including the strengths and weaknesses of each pupil, and how the students learn. Each individual educator has their own techniques that they add to and improve each year they have been in the industry, giving them more experience of what may happen in a classroom, and how to act appropriately in the situation. It is fair to say that a child’s teacher essentially functions as a mentor, teaches the student, and perhaps spends more time with them in a learning environment, than that child’s parent would. In this way, it is of the utmost importance that the student can have a good role model whom they can trust. …show more content…
This is used not only in the classroom and in lessons, but in meetings with other members of staff and possibly people outside the school environment, such as government officials. Being on time is a necessity, and this helps to notify people if information and plans have been altered to suit a better time or accommodate for more people. How cohesive lessons are to one another is an important factor of a child’s learning; if a student has a specific subject at the start of the school day and then at the end of it, the teacher should arrive on time, and moreover remember what happened in the period before the current lesson they are taking. This helps to keep students focused on their learning, and also aids students in developing skills of organisation that can be extremely useful in their later
Just about anybody can be a good role model. One may ask what a good role model is, and how a good role model dif...
A good role model sets the path for others to follow, by being outstanding in all they do. Naturally, people learn by observing, more than by listening. This enables people learn what they can observe easily as compared to what they hear. When a leader becomes a role model, there is a likelihood they will comprehend better what the people being led go through, hence the leader will impose practical expectations on the followers (Charles 9).
Teachers should try to make the class as interesting as possible. If the students are interested in learning they will try harder and learn better. Teachers should be a positive influence on their student’s lives. They should not only teach them the basic subjects, but also try to make them become better people by being involved with them. Some parents don’t care how their children act and don’t try to help them overcome problems such as shyness; therefore it is left up to the teacher to help these students. This is where the teacher should become a friend and role model for the students.
The person whom I have looked up as a role model had the following qualities: • Ability to inspire • High emotional Intelligence • Lead by example • Open
As a child, the classroom is where we spend most of our time. Every day of the week, students spend the majority of the day learning and growing. We learn things about our peers around us, read and write stories about our new interests and current life, and mature into who we are today, one day at a time. Our early years of education are the most influential in creating who we are going to be. Our teachers are the role models in which we look to them as an example.
Successful teachers develop the whole child by making integrated efforts to promote their student’s academic, social and emotional learning. Children need to be aware of themselves and others; make responsible decisions, and be ethical and respectful of the people around them.
Teachers should be experts in their subject field. Novice students need help from an expert to learn about concepts in a meaningful way.
A role model is an individual that one aspires to be like in the present or the future. Role models can be a celebrity or someone we connect with on a daily bases. In addition, there are several characteristics a role model should possess, such as: Moral, confidence, hardworking, respectful, optimistic and creative (Freddie, 2014). There are different types of role models in society today, who play great social roles. These are individuals who are prestigious and willing to help others find success as well. A good role model demonstrate honesty and behave ethnically. Therefore, I believe a good role model must be consistent with success and growth. Most importantly a role model should be an educator, who are intelligent and has great character.
Teachers help teach empathy, honesty, loyalty, time management, and interaction with others to improve a child’s development level socially as well as intellectually. Students learn how to socialize, gain confidence, reassurance, respect and acceptance. Education is also learning how to interact with others, develop a personality, learn personal interests, and find strong abilities that will improve a student’s ability to obtain gainful employment and become a productive citizen as an
I’ve had teachers who taught in a way that was a good way for them to teacher, but wasn’t a good way for students to learn. I know I want to be a high school teacher, and by the time they will reach my class, my students should know how they should be presented the information, so that they can learn in such a way that is best for them. A teacher should be able to teach in a way that’s suitable for the majority of students, and be able to give extra help to those who don’t learn as the other students do. I want to be the teacher who is willing to put in extra time with the students for their classroom
Being a teacher is not an easy task as many people could think. To be a teacher does not only imply to know the subject to be taught, it also includes being willing to constantly improve oneself integrally, as much as updating the resources and materials one uses in teaching. Reflecting and analyzing over and over again the best way to teach to learn and how to make students to extend what has been learned. The many hours spend in the classroom will never be enough to plan lessons, prepare materials, review pupils tasks and exams, as well, all the administrative requirements one has to cover for whatever institution we work. Besides all this a good teacher, a professional one, will have to find the time to keep preparing to improve oneself.
The judgments that young people make are often helped to be formed by the exemplary behavior of role models.
”Role models are highly important for us psychologically, helping to guide us through life during our development, to make important decisions that affect the outcome of our lives, and to help us find happiness in later life”(Thomas). Thomas advises people on how important role modeling is and how it can help adolescents find happiness in later life. “First, the use of role modeling as a teaching method in secondary education is assessed. Second, adolescents role models and their moral qualities are identified”(Sanderse). Sanderse implies that the moral qualities are identified as well as their role models.
Devoted teachers are extremely important to a perfect education. The teacher is just about the most important of the three parties necessary to create a model education. Teachers have the responsibility of forming good relationships with both students and parents. Teachers must also be able to effectively communicate with both parents and students in order to ensure that there are no misconceptions or confusions about the children's educations. A good teacher is aware of any special needs that certain children may have and is able to help those children adjust to the curriculum accordingly. Although it may seem obvious, teachers need to be patient and empathetic when dealing with his or her students. The vast majority of teachers already possess these qualities. Many students, however, have complained of teachers that appear to have "no time" for their students. Teachers with an unenthusiastic attitude relay a negative feeling back to their students and that can create problems in the classroom. As mentioned earlier though, people usually won't become teachers if they are uninterested in providing an excellent education to their students.
I have decided to become a teacher because I love children. I enjoy watching them grow, and I want to make a difference in the lives of my students. As a teacher, I will do everything that I can to ensure that each becomes a productive, successful citizen in life. In order for me to obtain this goal, I will create a loving, positive, respectful, and safe learning environment where each student will be treated equally and be encouraged to do his or her best. Keeping this in mind, there are four elements that I must remember which includes (1) how young children develop, (2) what they should know and be able to do, (3) instructional strategies that I have learned, and (4) my feelings regarding parent involvement.
