The Tactical Games Model is a form of instruction in Physical Education courses that the teacher uses to incorporate sport related activities and small games into their lesson plan to improve students' experiences in sports games and tactical awareness provided from them. The purpose of having the Tactical Games Model in physical education courses are to help students learn the basics of a sports game, like soccer or basketball, and let them figure out, through experience, the ways to improve themselves in a setting where their actions will be critical to their teams victory, as well as help learn what their strengths and weaknesses are themselves and self-improve afterwards. Throughout sport, any game comes down to tactical strategy that two competitive teams have to use to gain the advantage over their opponents to win their game. The basic foundation to any game is the tactics one uses to gain advantage over competitors, and students will be able to learn a lot about themselves, and their peers, when using these tactics to work for eachother, and themselves, throughout a match.
A great game to use as an example on how tactical games models should be used to benefit your students is soccer. The general set-up that a physical education teacher should use is:

2. Questions & Answers - (Students and yourself)
3. Situated Practice - Ex. 3v3 possession drills
4. Game 2
This plan helps students realize self-awareness in soccer that could help improve themselves as well as help benefit the team all together. During practice optimal motivation and excitement need to be given to players to not only insure they progress in their skill aptitude, but also to make the environment fun, creative, and innovative for all athletes involved. Martens specifically describes the “flow experience” as an “optimal” time where players aren’t too anxious or under motivated to perform (Martens, 108). Coaches can heed this advice by planning light, medium, and intense exercise drills, changing the modes of exercise, changing the environment, or through utilizing the teaching principle called the “games approach” (Martens, 154). If the “games approach” is used then the monotony of training will decrease because fun tactical activities based around in game situations will be used instead of repetitive technique drills that often bore players and inspire them to quit a sport early in season. Shaping of play with different teammates or rules, focusing of play through freeze play drills, and enhancing play through different techniques are all effective ways to utilize the games approach to improve tactical sport awareness (Martens, 156). The tactical game model uses student’s curiosity in a game structure to promote skill development and tactical knowledge needed for knowledgeable game application, when planning a tactical game model, the teacher plans a structure of learning task that have a game like assembly to develop students skills and tactics, leading the up to a modified or full version of the game. These game like assignments and modified games are called game forms. This model stresses the development of tactical awareness that facilitates skill application in smaller forms of games, so that students can apply what they have learned in the full version of a game when the time comes. From the early ages in history to the present day, sports have always been an important part of society. It teaches discipline, how to be a team player, how to interact with others and is a good source of physical activity. In specific, football utilizes all of these aspects of sports and it’s a great source of teaching self-restraint and perseverance. Some may say that football is a violent sport or it’s not beneficial in any way, but in reality it gives a person the basic tools needed not only for playing the game, but also how you interact with people in society.
My intent is to properly explain how to play a sport the different things that are required to play any the many sports out there. Learning a sport takes time, and the ability to be coachable in whatever sport you might do. In every sport your coach gives you tips on how to improve on different attributes that may help you better yourself as an athlete. These tips that are given and learned, help improve the overall ability that you have in the sport. In learning these skills you are cognitive, associative, and autonomous which help you the skills you learned and use them effectively. These theories all have something to do with process of learning that takes place in any sport played.

My core educational values define what I believe is necessary tools students need to be successful.
