Super Bowl Commercials are always the highlight of the evening. But the choice of the best commercial that is a little tougher. This years best commercial was the Hyundai commercial that stars Kevin Hart. They used comedy and goofiness to win over the customers. Kevin Hart is a comedian so he is best fit for the role of the over protective dad. The customers will remember the commercial if it is funny and as they think about the commercial more they want the product more. This is the year's best Superbowl commercial. The commercial starts out as a boyfriend coming to pick up the daughter form the house. As they are about to leave dad shows up and hands boyfriend the keys. They get in the car and drive off. The boyfriend and daughter are at the movies and they are watching a scary movie so the boyfriend offers her to come closer and he puts his arm around her. Boyfriend looks back and sees dad staring at him and he removes his arm. The next place he goes is the Carnival. Boyfriend wins daughter a prize and gets her a stuffed animal. As the worker takes the animal away dad pops out of the hole that the animal was in and stares at boyfriend. Daughter gives boyfriend a hug and dad mouths "No, Stop it, No". Then the boyfriend takes the daughter to his special spot. They are about to kiss and then boyfriend sees dad on a ladder connected to a helicopter and backs away. Boyfriend then takes daughter home as dad follows. When daughter arrives home dad is there waiting. When boyfriend leaves dad beeps the car locked and boyfriend jumps. The last few seconds are of the Hyundai logo and a proud sponsor of the NFL logo. The people that made the commercial were going for a funny and goofy commercial to get people to laugh and pay attention.
Almost every commercial uses Pathos, an appeal to emotions, to convince the viewer that their product is the best choice for them. The use of Pathos enables the persuader to reach out to the audience in a subconscious or even unconscious level. Emotion creates a bond with the viewer and the advertiser. Liberty Mutual commercials convince us that they provide the best coverage and benefits, such as 24 hour road side assistance and easy repair estimates. In particular, their commercials stand out as as one who uses humor and fear, and then provides reassurance to coax us to chose their insurance over others.

One of the commercials that I chose personally, is Proactiv. I chose this particular commercial because I can relate to what the commercial is trying to point out. I struggled when I was younger with acne, just like everybody else. This commercial is passed on television during the week. I would hear different stories from people who struggle with their own acne and it made me want to make a change for myself. Most of all, I noticed that people were getting rid of acne as they used the product.
The commercial begins by showing a man, in his apartment, speaking to his wife on the phone. From the decor of the apartment, it is clear that the man has been preparing for children to live there. While on the phone, the man exchanges, “miss you, love you, see you tomorrow” with his wife. The audience instantly empathizes with the man, without any use of brand or product placement. Following the conversation with his wife, the man is seen at a clothing store, purchasing winter jackets for, what can be assumed as, his family. The man places all of the winter clothing into bags and is next seen at the airport, awaiting the arrival of his family. Prior to their arrival, the man passes a Tim Hortons and purchases 2 coffees. The Super Bowl is a game that has been and will continue to be watched and celebrated by almost every American. Friends and families gather to enjoy typical tailgating snacks, while watching the national football leagues. However, the game is not the only aspect of the Super Bowl that grabs society’s attention. Super Bowl commercials draw viewers in by using tactics that are never seen in an average commercial. This is a Jeep Super Bowl commercial from 2013 featuring Oprah Winfrey as the narrator. We are in times of undeclared war and we miss our troops and want them to come back and Oprah is basically telling them that they aren’t forgotten. It shows the families of troops being home missing someone and showing the hole the troop has left since their departure. It is a battle the families fight as they miss their soldier while they are out fighting the other half of the battle. When the troops return to their families, they fill that hole again and our nation is reunited.

Some of the Superbowl 50 commercials weren't as good as others. There was a few good ones that I liked but the one I liked the most was the Avocados from Mexico one. This commercial was filled with alien like creatures that were in a room called "The Bounty of Earth" which probably mean't they were in a room with things that are on Earth. This commercial was probably made to show off the avocados grown in Mexico. Saying "They are always in season, so that you can enjoy them all year round". This commercial was only 40 seconds long and it was pretty good but probably took a lot of money and time to set it up. The commercial was a good one.
