Now belonging to a company known as Google, YouTube was created in 2005, and wasn’t fully released until 2006. Steve Chen became inspired to create YouTube from events such as the Indian Ocean Tsunami in 2004 and a dinner party that he attended with his business partner, Chad Hurley.. He wanted to create a safe website to watch videos and upload them. Steve Chen was able to spread the website in almost every device; laptops, phones, tablets, TV, computers...everywhere!
