The Hyundai Genesis featuring, Kevin Hart. The USA Polls stated, on February 8th, it was the best commercial of all the Super Bowl 50 ads. (Battaglio) Of all people Kevin Hart fits this ad perfectly due to him being a world renowned famous actor and comedian. With him being such a high profile actor, this sets the stage with regards to people who recognize him who are watching the ad. I think most men can relate to how Kevin thinks especially in this commercial due to him being extremely protective over his daughter on her first date. A regular first date in most modern day scenarios don't go how this ad went. Having Kevin Hart, as the daughter’s father, creates a very funny environment for the audience to be in. The creators target audience …show more content…
Funnily enough, just as the couple were about to kiss, her Dad enters the scene in the background on a helicopter saying "you're messing with the wrong daddy!” Swiftly stopping what they were doing, the daughters date says "that's it, I'm taking you home." Just at the moment they were about to kiss. Having her dad come in the moment at that time suggests that they may have the car and be alone, but the 'Car Finder' works wonders. Knowing most men like to be in control, especially parental dads, this puts the car into this perfect nutshell whereby it consists of everything a man needs in order to be successful. "Kevin Hart has this car; he's a successful man in many areas of life, a millionaire, with children. Why shouldn't I have one?" is the message that is being put into the target audiences heads. There is also a point in which you can control what you don't want to happen with the use of having a car like the Hyundai Genesis 2016 with Car Finder and tracking …show more content…
The look on the dad's face was enough to say "That's right, next time don't mess with my little girl". Analyzing the final seconds of the ad, without her date even attempting to say anything after he makes his way off their property, there are two main things which stood out. One being when the Hyundai spokesperson in the background says "Because a dads go to do, what a dads go to do", implying they've to spy on and keep in control of what their children are doing as they're the parents and they're in control. Not only that, the creator has implied previously in the ad that dads have to protect their children by any means necessary, especially by using the Hyundai Genesis' 'Spyware' tools. Two, whilst his daughters date is walking off, the song 'Another one bites the dust' is playing in the background suggesting that maybe this hasn't happened just once before but numerous times in the past. He's just another one who has had to bite the fathers dust and be left behind as he is the one who signs off on all major decisions, this being one of them. The creator made his statements very discreet throughout the entire commercial by using indirect selling points attracting or planting seeds in the audiences head by making them think about what they would do if they were in the actor’s shoes and if it were their child. This allowed the audience to give valid reasons
Attention: The commercial grabs the viewer’s attention by having a baby as one of the actors. First the viewer might have thought that the man was asking his boss for a day off. In reality, the man was asking his son for a day off.
The advertisement persuaded me because I have had many problems with water and phones. I have dropped my phone it the toilet and in the pool. I have a iPhone but this commercial changed my perception when it comes to Samsung phones. 4) A. The Bud Light Party: Super Bowl Commercial with Amy Schumer, Seth Rogen, and Paul
Shortly after, the man is shown writing a check to make the old truck reliable again, perhaps so he can pass it down to his son as well. Clearly, the appeal being used in the commercial is pathos, because it uses a great deal of emotion to drive viewers to feel a certain way. This is notable when the owner of the truck decides to have the truck fixed. In spite of what the mechanic said about its worth, the man knows the truck is dependable and that the memories tied to the truck are worth the cost. Despite the authors' decision to use the aspect of family as an attempt to connect the audience, while trying to convince them into thinking that Chevy and its products are great, I did not find the commercial persuasive at all. Though the author was successful at making the commercial emotionally touching, it did not represent the actual product well, as I felt the commercial was too focused on family. Personally, I would keep the element of family intact because it is relatable to most people, but I would primarily focus on the dependability of the truck. The clip merely shows a truck being worked on, but for what reason, the viewers do not
Budweiser's heartwarming 2014 Super Bowl commercial (in which a puppy befriends a horse) has been ranked the most popular ad ever to air in the 50-year history of the NFL's premier event, according to a study from TiVo.
For those people who never watch this commercial, Kevin Hart is a father whose daughter is going on a date with her boyfriend. Hart gives the keys of the Hyundai Genesis to the boyfriend. The boyfriend is unaware that the father has a GPS tracking device through the car. Kevin Hart uses his Smartwatch to track his daughter. Throughout the date, the boyfriend thinks it is crazy because he sees his girlfriend’s father everywhere he goes. There is one scene that shows Kevin Hart is on a chopper and says “You are messing with
The commercial emphasizes an altruistic parent-child relationship throughout. It shows all of the incredible ways a father sees his daughter grow through her first years of life and the impact she has on him. Using this relationship coupled with the nostalgia-inducing music played throughout the commercial provides the audience with a feeling of saudade that shapes the advertisement.
Rednecks have been around for centuries, but what is a redneck? In today’s terminology, redneck is used as an insult towards many southerners. Originally, redneck was used to describe someone who has been outside working all day, and has developed sunburn on their neck. Due to modern day stereotypes, the word redneck has become an insult rather than a way to describe a hard worker. Through research and personal accounts, the history of the word redneck can be examined, the comparison of the “modern day” redneck and the old meaning, and the way it impacts certain groups, can be used to demolish modern day stereotypes. The word redneck should return to its original form and should not be used as an insult toward southerners.
In the movie “crash” people from different racial group crash in to each other and at least two of the characters come to recognize how their prejudice and stereotyping is based on their accidental encounter with members of other social groups.
The movie Crash was directed by Paul Haggis is a powerful film that displays how race is still a sociological problem that affects one 's life. It also focuses on how we should not stereotype people based on their color because one may come out wrong in the end. Stereotyping is a major issue that is still happening in today 's society and seems to only be getting worse. This movie is a great way to see the daily life and struggle of other races and see how racism can happen to anyone, not just African Americans which seems to only be seen in the news and such.
The commercial that I chose as my favorite commercial from the night was the Colgate Save Water commercial. The creators of the advertisement used all three of the modes of persuasion: logos, ethos, and pathos to appeal to the target audience. Knowing that over 100 million people would be tuning in to view the Super Bowl game as well as the commercials, the creators knew what appealing approach to take regarding the audience.
Why does the car that Jerry Seinfeld drives matter? Is the car supposed to be some sort of incentive for the guest comedian to get coffee with Jerry? I suppose I could blow it off as some sort of interesting distraction for the sake of making decent TV, but the episode begins with background information about the car. Jerry also makes a point of mentioning it to Seth Meyers on their way to the coffee shop. Of course, one could also make the point that the car must be important to the episode because it is mentioned in the title.
The film “Crash,” directed by Paul Higgins, takes place over two days, following a handful of intertwined lives, all with their own stories, in Los Angeles where racial tensions are high. These tensions hold true with the theme of the film and give way to criminology theories. Although the film has many themes, the most prevalent is that of racism and stereotyping. Racism is the discrimination again someone because of their race, in the belief that one’s own race is superior.
A message appears on the screen. It says “May you get exactly what you wish for.” The father joins them and they all embrace in a family hug. Both of these advertisements fill the viewer with emotion. In the beginning and throughout the commercials there is a feeling of sadness and loneliness.
Some find comedy to be one of the most important aspects of life. Comedy gives us laughter, freedom of speech, and at times, extreme uplifting emotions. There are also many different concepts of comedy, including stereotypes, which are used in order to bring joy and laughter to others. One extremely relevant stereotype that runs throughout our nation is the idea of gender roles. Gender roles, more specifically, men are easily manipulated through the use of a women’s body, can be seen embedded within both ancient and modern day comedy.
For Thao, the car is a symbol of his newfound independence. Automoblies are significant representations of the American dream because of “the unrestrained capacity to move,” which became equated early in the American cultural imagination with personal reinvention and self-determination. Those who could control their own movement were deemed self-sufficient, independent agents” (Heitmann & Uhlman). For Thao, he is no longer restrained by the gang to follow his dreams. The last scene in the movie, at 1:50:00, is the true embodiment of the American Dream.
