The movie Crash was directed by Paul Haggis is a powerful film that displays how race is still a sociological problem that affects one 's life. It also focuses on how we should not stereotype people based on their color because one may come out wrong in the end. Stereotyping is a major issue that is still happening in today 's society and seems to only be getting worse. This movie is a great way to see the daily life and struggle of other races and see how racism can happen to anyone, not just African Americans which seems to only be seen in the news and such. Also, when Anthony and Peter had hit the Asian man, they refer to him as a Chinaman. This is a stereotype because the man is not Chinese, but is most likely Korean. However, society just lumps the Koreans, Chinese, and Vietnamese groups together and sticks one label on it. A stereotype that displayed about African Americans is that they are being portrayed as bad individuals who are more than likely trying to rob or do harm. I have always believed that all races have their good and bad. Their is never going to be the perfect race. This movie definitely set a powerful message that life is not perfect for any race and that even though people are from different cultures, they are all interconnected somehow. The filmmakers did a great job at showing us that individuals should not be based on first impressions such as skin color or the social status. To sum up, stereotypes are something that will more than likely be here to stay. Their are going to be some people who will live up to that stereotype and some who will prove it wrong. What the movie Crash did was show us life through the perspective of each race to see what they deal with on a day to day basis. We see how someone lives up to their label and how It only proves that everyone deals with prejudice.
