Statement of Purpose
Ever since my school days, I have been interested in the theoretical frameworks in Mathematics and Sciences, which drive the digital world. I used to watch ‘How Stuff Works’ on the Discovery Channel and was in awe every time I saw it. Seeing the manner in which the Electrical devices were built and the various processes involved, infused a desire in me to be part of this process. The amazing task of connecting the world is the monopoly of electronic devices; hence, I made Electronic & Communication engineering my choice. In addition to finding out how a device operates, I have always been interested in design aspects and monitoring the incipient faults occurring within electronic gadgets. This urge has strengthened my ability to recognize the scope for improvement and motivated me to look beyond the conventional functionalities of any gadget.
Studying subjects like Linear Integrated Circuits, Communication Engineering, Data Communication Networks, Wireless and Mobile Communication and Digital Signal Processing from reputed Sharda International University gave me a clearer view of what I wanted to do and revealed to me limitless horizons in the field of Electronics & Communication Engineering.
In the Second year of B.Tech, I had worked on a war Robot named AZAZEL and represented my university in International level Robot combat battle tournament held at Prestigious Indian Institute of technology, Mumbai and selected for final round.

It was just the second week of school, and I had mustered up all my courage to venture to the nether regions of our school known as the basement to attend the first meeting of the newly forming FIRST (For Inspiration and Recognition of Science and Technology) robotics team. When I walked into room one, the newly proclaimed FIRST headquarters, I looked around with apprehension, and I noticed that I did not recognize a single face in the room. Nervously, I took a seat, and Mr. Mothersele, the advisor for the program began describing the program. FIRST is a national engineering competition in which partnerships are formed between local businesses and high schools to design and build a robot-like machine from identical kits of parts supplied by FIRST. The team has about six weeks to build the machine which must be able to compete in a timed sporting event. As soon as I saw the video of the students working and competing with the robots, I was hooked. The program seemed tailored to my interest in math in science and to my competitive spirit. I couldn't resist the opportunity.
Being the top student in my secondary school (with 85.5%), I got admitted into Electronics & Instrumentation Engineering at MIT, Ujjain. My curriculum enhanced my knowledge in Microprocessors, Digital Signal Processing, and Analytical and Industrial Instrumentation. Having a strong zeal towards Information System and Computer Programming, I have also learned different languages like C, C++, SQL and PL/SQL.
A fascination for Science & Technology and keen interest in the ever-growing world of technology motivated me to take up engineering. The power of research and delivering it for the growth of Society is what makes me interested in the technology side of science. I choose to major Computer science Engineering with an intense urge to delve into this challenging field. During my under graduation program I learned the various fundamentals of Computer science Engineering which together with practical course works reinforced my interest.
Technology can now build robots that interact with people and perform routine workplace tasks. Modern robots can even adapt to behavioral tasks. According to Rodney Brooks, Co-Founder and President of Rethink Robotics, these technologies will reshape low skill and dangerous tasks throughout the workforce over the next 10 to 15 years. Mr. Brooks was interviewed by McKinsey Global Institute Partner, Michael Chui, in a recent publication.

Nowadays, technology is a dominant feature in the lives of people around the world. Most of daily life activities involve the use of technology which is expanding every day through scientific innovations. However, such innovations do not always occur in every part of the world, but mostly in technologically developed countries, such as South Korea, the USA and Japan. Presently, the development of robotics science has become a subject of considerable attention in those countries. According to Weng, Chen and Sun (2009, 267), “Technocrats from many developed countries, especially Japan and South Korea, are preparing for the human–robot co-existence society that they believe will emerge by 2030.” The word “robot” was introduced in the beginning of 1920th by the Czech playwright Karel Capek from the Czech word “robota”, meaning “forced labor” (Robertson 2007, 373). According to Robertson (2007, 373), robot, in practical usage, can be defined as an autonomous or semiautonomous device that is used to perform its tasks either controlled by human, fractionally controlled and with human guidance or regardless of external actions that are performed by people. Regrettably, the majority of robots in the past centuries could not operate without human control and intervention. However, the progress in robotics over the past few decades enabled humanity to achieve soaring results in creation of autonomous humanoid robots.
In the article “The Robot Invasion” by Charlie Gillis it introduces the rapid development of robotics. The article talked about how robots are being operated to do little or big task that humans can do. Their are different Universities and robot developers who are creating and experimenting these robots to do different things. These robots can come in different sizes and do different task that the developer programmed it to do. The authors in this article is serious because one day robots will be the center piece in this world. Also, their are positives and negatives in the use of robots. Many people like the thought of robots doing everything and others do not like the robot idea. Even though, the use of robots are questionable; robotic developing is growing rapidly.
Ever since I was a child, I have had a great interest for the automotive industry. From car trivia to novel innovations, my innate passion for the automotive industry has always made me research the minutest detail of every vehicle that interested me. Since elementary school I would draw sketches of cars which incorporated technology which were unheard of at that time; novel devices such as electrochromic windshields, HUD displays, and wind turbines which would constantly re-generate electricity for the car. While growing up, my hobbies largely consisted of constructing countless Lego and Meccano sets, and repairing my mom’s 19 year-old car. In middle school, math and science were my favorite subjects: applying science and mathematics to solve real-world problems has fascinated me and I have also taken further steps to reach my goals. Electrical engineering is the major that I am pursuing during my college career. I decided to pursue this major because it is a career, which requires knowledge in other subjects, it is a career, which changes often, and everyday it provides a person with new problems to solve.
People travel miles in search of their true passion; some find them early in their life and I consider myself lucky enough to be one among them. I found my true calling at the age of 12 on a field trip to a milk factory. It seemed like the Disneyland of science with huge machineries, conveyer belts running all around, and instruments working about in their own rhythm with sheer intricacies and perfection. As a kid, I was eager to understand the mechanics behind this magical rhythm. The desire of gaining in-depth knowledge about Control System and Automation eventually led me to choose Electronics and Instrumentation Engineering as my undergraduate study.
This perfectly holds true for me in the world of Computer Engineering where novel ideas are not a novelty. It is this novelty that entices me to this field and gives me a deep sense of professional pride. In this context, I would like to pursue my graduation in Computer Engineering, which not only supplements the knowledge that I possess but also provides a strong platform for my future career goals.

What do you think of when you think about ‘robots’? If you think they are only the stuff of space movies and science fiction novels, then think again. Robots are the largest growing technological devices in the world. They perform many functions ranging from space exploration to entertainment. In the following essay the functions of robots, the various types of robots and the advantages and disadvantages of using robots will be discussed. The reasons for using robots are almost endless for example ; robots are ideal for jobs that require repetitive , precise movements. Human workers get bored doing the same thing over and over, which can lead to fatigue, RSI ( Repetitive Strain Injury , and costly mistakes. Robots are also ideal for tasks that are dangerous, or where human workers may damage the product. For example, in a factory manufacturing medicines and chemicals that may harm humans, and factories that manufacte food that humans may damage by handling. Also used in tasks that are impossible for humans eg. Navigating mars or deep sea exploration. The uses for robots are almost as endless as the reasons for using them. There are five main areas in which robots are used. Ninety percent of robots are used in factory work and assembly lines. They assemble cars, package food, load machines and repair machines. Another major area that robots are used is in space exploration. NASA spends hundreds of thousands of dollars a year producing robots that allow the scientific world to discover more and more about the solar system that we live in. The medical industry is another major area that robots are used in, and the technological advances in this area are really quite incredible and are the cause for many lives being saved...
The development of every nation hinges on the effectiveness of their transportation systems. Movement of goods, services and people to and from locations is made possible by transportation systems. The importance of effective transportation systems cannot be over-emphasized. Many countries face transportation problems and my country Ghana is no exception. At the Univ. of Manchester, I got more opportunities to sharpen my research and practical abilities. In the coursework of VLSI design: logic gates circuit design, I designed schematic diagram and layout, and constructed models for simulations. Subsequently, I constantly adjusted relevant parameters based on the simulations and theoretical knowledge. In two weeks of continuous testing, I ultimately designed a chip circuit with a high response speed. Additionally, in the alarm clock design project based on Microchip PIC18F6722, I not only achieved the fundamental alarm functions on the basis of the limited circuit components and a microcontroller, but independently designed extra functions so that users can load music files via USB port. The clock could produce the corresponding melody as the alarm simply through a single buzzer.
