In the article “The Robot Invasion” by Charlie Gillis it introduces the rapid development of robotics. The article talked about how robots are being operated to do little or big task that humans can do. Their are different Universities and robot developers who are creating and experimenting these robots to do different things. These robots can come in different sizes and do different task that the developer programmed it to do. The authors in this article is serious because one day robots will be the center piece in this world. Also, their are positives and negatives in the use of robots. Many people like the thought of robots doing everything and others do not like the robot idea. Even though, the use of robots are questionable; robotic developing is growing rapidly.
The thought of using robots to do task that humans can do amazes me. In this article their are many informational sentences that leads to the use of robotic encounters. The author made some good points in this article on how robots in today’s day are being developed. He introduces that people make these robots because their are task humans would rather not do. “A large population of relatively simple robots could “swarm” a task we humans would rather forgo, like cleaning a banquet hall” (Gillis, 2012, p. 478). Also, it would be great if he had hyperlinks at the end of the article to actually get a visual on the toy-sized robots that picked up plastic pucks and sorted them onto a dining table. He should of added more transitions to flow his sentences better. Charlie Gillis should of put more facts then his bias opinion on the matter. An interview with one of the professors that develops robots would have been good to see his view point on the evolution of robotics. Therefore, these are some ideas on how to make this article
