The National Honor Society has four goals: to ignite a passion for scholarship; to inspire a fervor in its members to help others; to advocate leadership; and to further the development of fortitude and integrity in high school students. However, I believe that organizations like the National Honor Society accomplish so much more in our community and school. The National Honor Society not only unites like-minded students that are willing to work towards a better future, but it also amplifies the voices of those whose accomplishments lie in their ability to express themselves. Furthermore, NHS provides an opportunity for students like me to broaden their horizons and become active members of society. Were I to be selected to become
a member of the National Honor Society, I would take it as my call to arms. I am willing to engage myself in activities, services, and clubs that would benefit the community as a whole. I shall continue to maintain a high grade point average as a result of my desire to learn. I will be present at each meeting and offer my skills to others in their times of need. I would use my leadership abilities obtained from experience as a captain of my Destination Imagination team to motivate others to take initiative as well. Being a member of the National Honor Society would further my growth as a persevering and highly motivated individual. I would like to see the National Honor Society have a broader outreach when it comes to volunteering programs, study groups, and scholarship opportunities. For many students, all it takes is a push in the right direction to enthuse them about their education and the wellbeing of others. With all this in mind, I think it would be a privilege to be a part of a prestigious organization like the National Honor Society.
National Honors Society is an extremely prestigious and well-known group that gave me the opportunity to assist the community while working harmoniously with my peers. To get into NHS, there are four pillars one must fulfill, including, scholar, service, leadership, and character. One may not realize it, but these qualities apply all throughout life. In order to be successful, one must achieve some form of each pillar. Being dedicated and committed to learning and improving but also using the knowledge one previously has is to be a scholar. Giving back to one’s community by making improvements or donations or simply just being courteous to one’s neighbor is to give one’s service. Taking the initiative to solve problems and guide others towards
“Leadership, dreams, scholarships, service, pride and character”, the first words that come to mind when I hear “National Honor Society”. Being chosen for National Honor Society is a great honor, as it has proved that from my childhood till now my hard work has paid off. From the beginning of high school, as a freshman to now a junior, I have always pushed myself to do better, but not better than others, better than myself. I had competition with myself and my past grades, as I emboldened myself to do better than each of my past marking period grades. I heartened myself to get stronger grades, because since the day I found out in freshman year that there was National Honor Society I was determined to get in. The day of my sister’s graduation
Being a potential candidate of the National Honor Society is a distinction that I greatly honor. I wish to be a member of the prestigious group for the various benefits to myself, my school, and my community. A member of my family was a former member of the National Honor Society; he has mentioned many positive benefits of being a member and how being a member is beneficial to the community. Due to my exemplary qualities of a National Honor Society member, I am qualified to be part of the chapter.
As a student at Northvale Public School, I grew up with my older siblings being inducted into an organization called the National Junior Honor Society. I had seen all the hard work and dedication they put into their school work and activities just to get into this society, making me want to be just like them. Then a few weeks ago, I found a note on my desk in the homeroom telling me that I had been nominated to be apart of this society. Through citizenship and character, leadership, and service, I intend on being inducted into the society I have heard so much about. Though it will take a lot of effort this school year, being a part of this society is a dream of mine that I will make sure to come true.
William Jennings Bryan was quoted in saying, “Destiny is not a matter of chance; it is matter of choice. It is not something to be waited for, but rather something to be achieved.” Bryan and I see eye to eye, for I also believe destiny is something you control. I want to be accepted into the National Honor Society so I can indeed steer my destiny towards a favorable pathway. The NHS can provide me with yet another way I can help others through numerous service projects. In addition, it will teach me to be a stronger leader and allow useful experiences to prevail. These experiences will be put to great use in future jobs and projects in the school or in the community. Lastly, NHS will be placed into an array of sun beams to happily bask in, because I will not let anyone, including myself, slack off. These polished characteristics will hopefully help me in the future by gaining acceptance into a top college and creating plentiful complimentary job opportunities.
It is with great honor to be considered among the students of my class to be a part of the National Honor Society. the National Honor Society (NHS) has been an organization that has displayed great interest to me, with new leadership skills and responsibilities to take upon. To continue, the memories that I would want to remember from Godinez as a junior is having to be involved with my school's communities such as being involved in the National Honor Society and the ASB Senate, attending all of the school dances, and going to the sport games. Being a part of the National Honor Society and the ASB Senate gave me the opportunity to contribute to my school’s community through variety of community service in helping both inside and outside of my school. I was able to meet new people and become friends with them. Beside of learning in school, I have the chance of being a part of an exciting moment of going to the dance and have fun in spending time with my friends. I love to go out and dance with my friends even though
The National Honor Society picks their members based on their merit and the four pillars. These pillars aren’t just characteristics that are to be engraved into the students by NHS, they are characteristics each member already has instilled. Members of NHS represent them every day and as a member, it is my duty to uphold them even after graduating high school.
National Honor Society is constructed upon four fundamental pillars: scholarship, service, leadership, and character. Each one is an important quality and is demonstrated throughout the organization’s leaders and members. They are taught and respected because of their huge impacts departed on the chapter’s surrounding schools and communities. Before I joined N.H.S., I displayed the four pillars in varies activities, groups, studies, and events. My acceptance into N.H.S presented many new prospects for me to join other organizations and projects. However, I still lacked in my confidence and could improve each attribute.
I am deeply honored to be among the exemplary students who are eligible for the National Honor Society. The National Honor Society is an exceptional organization that allows students to help the needy, children, the elderly, and the community. I want to be a member of National Honor Society because of the limitless opportunities it presents to me. Throughout my years as a student, I have shown Academics, Leadership, Service, and Character that help qualify me to be a member of this great organization.
It is important that we as people constantly make an effort to grow and improve in order achieve success and reach our full potential. National Honors Society is an exceptional opportunity that allows one to better themselves through leadership roles, working with others, and giving back to the community.
With the additional research I have completed on my own about The National Honors Society. I have gotten a greater understanding of what this society is about. “It is an organization devoted to recognizing high school students who have maintained a certain GPA throughout the years. It’s also recognizes or looks for students who are involved in more than just school work.” Which brings
