To continue, the memories that I would want to remember from Godinez as a junior is having to be involved with my school's communities such as being involved in the National Honor Society and the ASB Senate, attending all of the school dances, and going to the sport games. Being a part of the National Honor Society and the ASB Senate gave me the opportunity to contribute to my school’s community through variety of community service in helping both inside and outside of my school. I was able to meet new people and become friends with them. Beside of learning in school, I have the chance of being a part of an exciting moment of going to the dance and have fun in spending time with my friends. During 2017, the fall of my senior year, we held elections for National Honor Society President. I was one of the members selected and later got elected into the position. This position has taught me the importance of quality leadership in order for the success of a program along with how to prioritize my time and stay organized while helping to engage members to enable them to be the best people they can be. Throughout my months as president, I have contributed experience, advice, and leadership alongside hours and hours of time put into an array of projects benefiting both the school and the community as a whole. Some of my extracurricular activities include Science Olympiad, STEM Academy, International Club, Advanced Academics Club, and Chem Club. During high school I have participated in various community-based organizations, the two most common being Beta Club and National Honor Society. However while these clubs have allowed me to give back to my community in numerous ways, it was strangely not either of these clubs that expanded my interest in the following particular social issue. Rather it was my involvement in Science Olympiad, specifically volunteering to help run a local Elementary school tournament, that expanded my view of the STEM field.
The National Honors Society is based off of four pillars: Scholarship, Leadership, Character and Service. These are all characteristics a member of the National Honor Society should exhibit. I believe that I possess all of these characteristics and should be given the chance of becoming a NHS member. This has also been a goal of mine since freshman year and would mean a lot to me to be apart of such a prestigious organization.
I am writing to inform you of my possible contributions to the National Honor Society and my interest in becoming a member. I view myself as a strong minded individual with a strong incentive to learn. Acquiring the ability to learn fast and adapt quickly has enabled me to be a part of a wide range of organizations. My participation and loyalty to the NHS could result in a great strive forward. I could provide more ideas of services to benefit the school and our community. I would also devote a large portion of my free time to the organization and assist in any way possible. Whether that means coming in early in the morning or staying late after school, I would do any means necessary to show my commitment.
Being proud of something can have many different meanings to people, but to me, it means to be honored and to be glad that something happened. I am proud about many things in my life but one thing I am extremely proud of is my induction into the NJHS. NJHS stands for National Junior Honor Society.
William Jennings Bryan was quoted in saying, “Destiny is not a matter of chance; it is matter of choice. It is not something to be waited for, but rather something to be achieved.” Bryan and I see eye to eye, for I also believe destiny is something you control. I want to be accepted into the National Honor Society so I can indeed steer my destiny towards a favorable pathway. The NHS can provide me with yet another way I can help others through numerous service projects. In addition, it will teach me to be a stronger leader and allow useful experiences to prevail. These experiences will be put to great use in future jobs and projects in the school or in the community. Lastly, NHS will be placed into an array of sun beams to happily bask in, because I will not let anyone, including myself, slack off. These polished characteristics will hopefully help me in the future by gaining acceptance into a top college and creating plentiful complimentary job opportunities.
The four pillars of the prestigious National Honor Society demonstrate the traits I hope to continually develop: as a scholar, a leader, a volunteer and a person of strong moral fiber. I believe myself to be mature and motivated; I have an unyielding commitment to scholarship and intend to make a difference in the lives of everyone around me. The prospect of becoming a member has prompted me to take a look upon what I wish to accomplish as a part of this organization. By becoming an active participant, my goal is to enrich my school experience by means of volunteering in the community, serving as a role model for my peers, and fostering pride for our school.
It is with great honor to be considered among the students of my class to be a part of the National Honor Society. the National Honor Society (NHS) has been an organization that has displayed great interest to me, with new leadership skills and responsibilities to take upon. I believe that I hold the leadership skills, service, character, and academic excellence that is required to become a member of the National Honor Society.
The National Honor Society is a very prestigious organization that I would love to be a part of. It was an honor to be nominated as a candidate. I am currently a sophomore in high school, and I have always wanted to be a member of the National Honor Society. As I look back over the years and think of the times I have attended the ceremonies and saw all the awards the members received, I recall saying to myself “That’s going to be me one day.”. I asked my teachers about all the requirements that had to be met to be a National Honor Society member and I made it my main goal to meet each and every one.
People say high school is supposed to be the golden years of your life. I don’t know what else in life is to come; however, my philosophy is to live in the moment and make the life you’re living in the present worthwhile into the future, not only for you but for those who surround you. I live my life participating in our community and getting involved in our school. The activities, and the people I’ve formed relationships with, are what have formed me into the person I have become today. The person I am today is not perfect, but I have learned from the mistakes I’ve made. I think the sense of maturity I have developed throughout my life has given me the determination to be the best person I can be. That being said, I would love to be inducted into the National Honor Society and not only represent our school, but represent our generation to the community not as a “selfie” generation but as a generation, with great potential.
As a student in Greater Lawrence Technical school my ultimate goal was to become a member of National Honors Society. From the very start I knew I had the potential to become who I wanted to be. Being seen as a person who can be National honors society member has made me so happy and realize I can really go for more in life! They sky's the limit. I always had honor roll and wanted to push myself for more than what I knew I could do. I asked teachers and guidance counselors how to get into NHS and if they believed I was eligible for National Honor Society. They said with your outstanding character, motivation and dedication to help others is how!
I am honored to be among the exemplary students who are being considered to be accepted to National Honor Society. I learned while researching National Honor Society that it calls upon students with outstanding academics and character. Throughout my life I believe I have demonstrated these qualities along with leadership from my participation in school, teams, and clubs.

Real growth, personally and academically, comes from experiencing and learning new things. However, there will be a point in time where you gain all you can from your surrounding environment.
