Plan of Study The plan for this study was to observe the patrons of Starbucks of Ocean Township. I have a history as a customer of Starbucks but had only patronized this particular Starbucks twice within the last 9 months. I had assumptions of who might be patronizing the store, how the baristas might behave, and that these considerations were factors that might affect the trustworthiness of my data analysis. I planned to situate myself in an unobtrusive location where I would be able to blend into the environment and observe individuals and groups while listening to their discourse. The interior of the business is styled with dark woods, and autumn hues, with forest green as the dominant color, similar to the Starbucks logo. Pictures in frames decorate open wall space, and a large chalkboard advertising today’s specials occupies the wall to the left of the pick-up counter. The store is well lit. Three sides of the building have undressed glass windows that do not open, span three quarters of the wall and show views of Route 35 and WPA. The interior wall facing parallel to WPA is adorned with large books shelves filled with both edible and non-edible products. The cold case situated to the right of the check out counter is stocked with fresh comfort food, cakes, and beverages. There are two small areas, one in the northwest corner of the building, and the other in the southwest corner, both with low lights, and close, comfortable pub chair seating, that give a feeling of an intimate space. The friendly staff also contributes to the pleasant environment. All of the capable baristas are introduced on the restaurant’s website, with short and sweet bios about them all. This creates a close-knit family, all with a love for quality coffee. This familiarity encourages loyalty to the coffee shop. The full wall of windows provides a view of Bedford Street and again stresses that the products should be enjoyed in the morning. On a sunny morning, the light fills the cafe and illuminates the mural, a focal point. The artistic, wispy design disguises a boring brick wall as a magnificent work of art. The cozy and intimate setting encourages the consumer to return to enjoy the food and people that they love.
For my report, I observed the customers at a Starbucks in downtown St. Petersburg. Each time I visited this establishment, there were consistent factors as well as unique ones during each observation. The morning crowd of people was vastly different than the evening crowd. I did however see many parallels with the morning and lunch time crowd. Each time I visited, There seemed to be an upbeat and fast paced environment.

My name is Ana Nicole Paz and I am a 16-year-old high school student. I read your memoir How Starbucks Saved My Life and can honestly say I thoroughly enjoyed the read. Even after losing your job, house, marriage, money, and learning you had a brain tumor, I loved the fact that you took an otherwise negative situation and turned it into a positive life experience that would make you the happiest man you could have ever dreamed to be by accepting a job at Starbucks. I also appreciated that you did not hide any of your thoughts in your memoir, but were rather very straightforward, even with the prejudices you held, and were quick to learn that they were unwarranted to move forward from such ignorance.
Most ethnography is done using inductive methodology, also known as grounded theory, meaning that the theory will arise out of the collected data. I did not go in to the Starbucks with the mindset of testing a hypothesis. During my research, I utilized full field notes because it is common practice for people to work on their laptops in a coffeehouse. One might even argue that it is unusual to see someone without a tablet or laptop or other electronic device.

My ethnographic experience takes place in Assi supermarket, the supermarket that mostly sell Asian foods. I arrived to take my field note on Saturday morning and stayed for several hours. The place has similar size and architecture with Walmart, the outside walls are painted in nude color. There is no window and only one door to get inside. However, it was very crowed and noisy by people shopping for foods, therefore, it look much smaller. I used my phone to take note while walking around the place to cause less attention from people. The weather was calm and not too sunny. It makes the shoppers seem relaxed on a weekend morning.

During my environmental scan in which took place at the Starbucks on the corner of Fair and Newport across the street from vanguard, I noticed many things in which where never brought to my attention in prior stays and visits at Starbucks; such as the many social groups in which choose to have their meetings at Starbucks. Thus in this essay we will discuss things in which many people do not really notice when going to Starbucks.
Starbucks recognizes its employees for much of its success. This is due mostly to maintenance of a great and proven work environment for all employees. The company does not have a formal organizational chart; sot employees are permitted by management to make decisions without a management referral. Moreover, management trust and stands behind the decision of the employees and it is this that allows for employees to thinks for themselves as a part of the business, so as to make them feel as a true asset and not as just another employee.

However, within the new customer satisfaction report, there are shown some concerns, that the company has lost the connection with customers and it must be taken some steps to help Starbucks to go back on the right path regarding customer satisfaction. I will briefly summarize and examine issues facing Starbucks. Starting from there, I will pick the most important issue and study it from different positions.

The coffee shop I decided to do my observation was the well known Starbucks just a couple blocks away. The reason I chose this coffee shop was because of it 's style inside, it attracted me. For example, one side of the wall has a glass top, and the lower part of the wall, made of wood and painted in a bright red color, which was one thing that attracted me and stood out. Outside of the shop people can actually see through the glass wall and get to see what’s happening inside of the coffeeshop. By the entrance you see these two red ceiling lamps which were shaped in a flower bud and these two tall green plants. Once you were in, on the right of the shop there was a counter with food and things to put in your drinks such as milk, sugar, chocolate, etc and the colors and how the food was displayed and served was appealing to my eyes. Behind that counter there was a long table with different electronic devices plugged into the wall. On the middle of the those there is a fridge just for ice and when I turned to the other side and I noticed a big menu on the wall. Further more into the shop, there was an area filled with tables, chairs, and sofas. The tables were in different shapes, one was round and the others rectangular, also there was four bamboo baskets and I looked around and noticed that the walls in that area were decorated with paintings.
