“Order Out!” Cooks yell this out at both fast food restaurants, Dairy Queen and Sonic. Both restaurants share many similarities and differences. I have worked at both restaurants and know what makes each one unique, yet the same. Sonic and Dairy Queen are different no matter what others think. We obviously go to both of these establishments to consume food. Therefore making that one similarity they share. If someone asked someone else, “Why are you going to Dairy Queen?”, most of the time they will say, “For icecream”. If someone asked someone else, “Why are you going to Sonic?”, most of the time they will say, “For drinks.” These restaurants are known for two different things, however they offer similar items. They both sell cheeseburgers, hotdogs, fries, and Coke products. They both have a fried cheese. Dairy Queen’s are called Cheese Curds and they contain white mozzarella cheese and they are in small droplet shapes. Sonic’s are called Cheddar Bites and they are a yellow mozzarella cheese and they are in a cylinder shape. …show more content…

Dairy Queen had a drive thru, patio and lobby. Sonic has stalls and a patio that customers can choose to sit and eat at. The customers at Sonic push a red button, switch board inside the store goes off and a carhop answers it and takes that stalls order. Dairy Queen has headsets and when someone drives over the drive thru the head sets go off and you can hear their order; for inside orders people are assigned one drawer to take orders on at counter. At Sonic, there are trays that are automatically assigned to stalls when they order and the food is placed on that tray and taken out. Each carhop is in charge of the the money from the orders they take out. The Micros system keeps track of the amount that you should be turning in at the end of the shift. At Dairy Queen the system there keeps track of the three drawers and how much that should be in each at the end of each
