Sports are loved by kids of all ages. Kid’s develop all types of skills they will need throughout their life. So when it comes to where kids receive their education, decides if where and if they can play sports, I get sometimes get upset. Public School). Some kids have been granted the privilege to be able to play on local teams. There are still many kids that haven't been granted the privilege to play sports on local sport teams. Why should some kids be granted the privilege but others not. There are many laws and many cases in where parents take their issue to the court. The same statement is always said, “Equal access for homeschoolers to the public schools is a state-granted privilege, not a right” (“Can Homeschoolers Participate”). There is no reason for the number not too be at 50 states. Homeschooled kids being on local teams does not harm anyone. Rebecca Wright says “Homeschoolers pay taxes, and just because they do not use all of a public school's resources does not mean they should be forbidden from using any.” (Pro/Con: Should Home Schoolers). Parents argue, just because they pay taxes doesn't mean they should be allowed to use the school's resources. Public schooled kids have fundraisers and other money raising events too raise money for their sport team. Some local football teams go around and sell cards that have coupons on them. So the question is asked “why should they be able to use the equipment of local sports teams, if they don’t participate in school events and fundraisers”. Both homeschool parents and public-school parents contribute to the success of the school so why should they not be able to participate? In the book Homeschooling, Immell states, "It seems disingenuous to suggest that permitting these students to take part in school-based extracurricular activities would be unjust or a burden on public school budgets since their parents are paying property taxes. It's clear that parents who homeschool their children do not make this decision lightly. Some do so because they want their child's education to be integrated with their faith and do not have access to a private school that reflects their religious beliefs. Others choose to homeschool in an effort to offer more challenging coursework to children who have advanced beyond the available curricula offered locally. Others may have a child with special needs and opt for homeschooling as a way to provide individualized attention that may be unavailable or impractical for their school district" (Immell 132-133). It is only fair that every child should be able to participate in that school’s sports activities and teams in their area. No child should have to feel left behind just because they are raised in a different setting. There are different circumstances as to why kids are homeschooled. Author connects her meaning saying that the majority of the students does not want to join a sport. The taxpayers who help students as well as community assumes that their taxes go in the safest hands, but sometimes something different happens. The author is clearly saying that students aren't mature enough to care about something and something has to be done to make things back on tracks or else school have to make a decision about canceling sports. She uses an example of failing school, Slington is a school principal who examines and helped other schools in their bad times. He discontinued sports from his own school and saves thousands of dollars. He explains that how much money does a single sport takes, and by the figure of the number they could save a lot of money that they would never thought. Something that Slington does makes the whole new perspective out of it by giving some pros about it. In this argument the author is correct in her point because high school students are considered as kids, and kids do not have a set mind. Although their minds are sharp they may not able to handle different things at once. Academics are another problem too, this means that if academics goes high means less participation in sports and when sports goes skyrocketing then the academics put pressure on students. Imagine this, Friday night, bright lights, the smell of popcorn, your classmates in the stands cheering you on, and the coolest thing of them all, the name of your own school on your jersey, representing the whole school. Some schools think sports cost too much money, but being a student is harder than ever. You are being held to tougher academic standards-and so is your school and that's why it is more important than ever for schools to keep sports because private and club sports are too expensive for most families and sport programs in school can affect and improve academic skills.
I personally have been on both sides of this issue. I have been homeschooled and I have been to public school. Students should have at least 2 years of public schooling if they have been homeschooled. I did something similar to that: I had around 2 years of homeschooling and the rest of my time spent in the public school system. I also had a few different types of homeschooling:

To put this in perspective, the percentage of students being homeschooled increased from 1.7% in 1999 to 2.2% in 2003 (Bielick; Chapman). Others can say that if homeschool students truly want to play on the school athletic teams, they should just join the public school system. However, families do not opt for homeschooling because of trivial reasons, they actually have real concerns for their child. According to parents, their reasons include: Poor learning environment at school (26%), religious reasons (38%), and the child has special needs/disability (8%) (Bielick). These are all rational reasons to opt for homeschooling, so the students should not have to choose between having an education that fits their needs or being able to play on the school sports teams.
This creates problems for the team, coaches, and officials. Because it is not school sponsored, no one has a say in which school a student can play for because they don’t have that authority. If someone wants to play for a rival school across the valley that they may not go to, no one can change that. It also makes it so that multiple high schools that want to have their own team can’t because players switch around to whatever high school they suddenly feel like playing at and then they don’t have enough players for a JV and Varsity team. This creates a domino effect when hiring officials, playing in official tournaments, and for any other team involved with playing against the said team. If it was school sponsored, it would organize the teams so that the players would be required to play for the school they go to, not the school of their choice. This would keep everyone organized and make multiple people’s jobs
Covering all, we should revise the rules of Fort Bend ISD and change it. Having a sport in a school is a privilegeto one because some don’t due to the lack of money.It’s important for many students: it can help students in future possibilities such as athletics and their character. Knowing sports can change a person physically and mentally by making them smart, respectful, and healthier. Being in an after school activity is rewarding experience to all the students who are going to dedicated and focused on school and in the activity. Finally, student will be rewarded after school after the hard work throughout the day. Sports can influence students in many ways like character, making better graders, and lack of obesity. Fort Bend ISD should allow sixth graders to participate in physical activates: sixth graders would be satisfied.

You would go to t-ball and at the end of the season, you would be handed an award for just showing up. Back then it seemed like the best thing in the world, but now, it sounds ridiculous.

Some people argue that homeschooling is the way to go, because parents have more choices. Some families who homeschool believe that homeschooling is better than school, because regular school is government mandated, so the government determines what is necessary for children to be learning. These families get to choose what they think is critical for their child to learn and they think that all families have the right to define what their child is learning and that they should have complete control. Homeschooling has become a popular trend within the past several years. Many parents are pulling their children out of public school and private schools and are now educating them in their own home. With the rise in the number of homeschooling families a new question has arisen; should homeschooled children be allowed to participate in extra-curricular activities, especially sports, in public schools? Homeschool families pay the same taxes as other public families that fund the public schools. Tyrell Cameron lined up for a punt return at his Friday night high school game. What he didn’t know was that that would be his last play.
