It can be easy to think that you want a later start so you can sleep in more, but that is not the case. As we know, there are many kids who tend to stay up because they are busy doing homework and after-school activities. Some people think that if we change the school times to later, it can really affect a kid’s day. If they decide to change the school start times, there will be more stress on the parents, games and practices will be pushed back, the students will have to stay up later to do homework, and the cost of changing school times can be very expensive. This is just one of the many problems we face when we change school times. Also, some parents have underestimated the amount of kids that don't get enough sleep. Parents are starting to get worried about their kids not doing well in school and not sleeping enough. All parents have mixed feelings about this debate, but they all have different opinions about this issue. Another group of people that could be affected would be the teachers and staff. They would most likely not get paid for the school changes or extra school time. Yes, teachers say they get more sleep, but the kids will still stay up later and probably not get more sleep. They could also get less time with their social life if they are busy staying late, grading, planning days, and teaching kids about education. Some teachers might do more than one job and could get fired if they are late to those jobs because of the later school start times. They will make less money to support their lives. Furthermore, the students are most definitely going to be heavily impacted by the school
