My first preference for a little this semester would be Ryan Stahulak. When I had my first interaction with Ryan, during his interview, I started to find some parallels between the two of us. He seems to a person who likes to know the situations that he is getting himself in before doing anything. He described this during his interview by saying before taking on leadership, he liked to observe the situation that is at hand. I am very much like this as well. Sometimes I am uncomfortable if I am put in situations that I am not aware of what will happen, and in situations of ambiguity. During the pledge process, there are a lot of unknowns. Between getting interviews done, midcourt, planning events, court of honor, and all of the other requirements, …show more content…
If this is the truth, then he is going to need a big that truly exhibits this core value in order to get the most out of the intern process. Having an older brother who has been through job interviews, made it on eboard after his first semester as a brother, and tries to live professionalism in his everyday life, will help Ryan get the most out of his intern process. I will help with every professional assignment to ensure that he puts his absolute best work into them in order to ensure that he can develop this core …show more content…
This was one of the driving factors as to why he wanted to join Alpha Kappa Psi, to help him learn more about business, networking and the opportunities that can come about. I am a brother who has dedicated countless number of hours to the fraternity, and has helped shape it into what it is today. Whether it is attending strategic planning meetings to help develop the future of the fraternity, to transitioning our bank account to SAGA and taking on the responsibility of learning about the requirements associated to that, I am constantly working to improve my knowledge. Outside of the fraternity, I have always been one to constantly learn new things inside and outside the business world. Because of my dedication to school work, I have been able to get an additional two scholarships during my time at Loyola, just helping show my dedication to knowledge. Lastly, on the knowledge topic, I have many connections to the business world, inside and outside of the Chicago area. My family has been members of the Detroit Yacht Club, almost my whole life. This allows me to develop a strong network of connections in almost every industry. When I turned 21, I became eligible to sign-up for my own membership at the Yacht Club. I chose to do this for a variety of reasons. Besides being my childhood home, having a yacht club membership allows you to visit any
Day in and day out we hear about high school and college students wanting to pursue a sorority and/or a fraternity based on the stereotypes these organizations uphold, well I chose to differ. I told myself if I ever decided to become a member of a sorority it would be based solely on their ethical standards, history, and values they are founded upon. Alpha Kappa Alpha, Incorporated consists of ladies of distinction and exemplary character who excel in scholarship, leadership, and service, which are qualities I have chosen to uphold. From my perspective, I encourage myself to maintain a respectable appearance and reputation which doing so inspires me to embrace my self-concept; which helps me confidently excel academically and professionally as a “lady of distinction” and “exemplary character.” Most importantly, I continuously remain involved in community service, being involved allows me the opportunity to learn and understand the lives and circumstances of others by opening my mind, heart, and soul. Overall these qualities strengthen my passion to be a member of the prestigious Alp...
Therefore, I was exposed to many different things surrounding this wonderful fraternity. However, I still never knew what it was I just always admired the bond that my father shared with the guys he called his fraternity brother. It was not until my older cousin that I looked up to cross into the Kappa brotherhood when I really started to understand somewhat. When I got to college, is when I started to take an interest in joining a fraternity. That's pretty much all everyone talked about was joining a fraternity or sorority. Many of my friends took an interest and some of the other fraternity. Mainly because how active they were around campus and how live their parties were. But for me it's was much more than that. I had the privilege of growing up around Kappa’s by attending many events with my father such as tailgates, Kappa Balls, as well as many different types of meetings. So I had the honor of seeing more than what my friends saw. And what I saw was a friendship unlike any other, built out of loyalty, respect and love. And true enough, there are many other fraternity with similar characteristic. However, to me it nothing like Kappa. Just seeing my father love for Kappa is overwhelming it’s nothing he won't do for his brothers. When we are out eating and he see younger brothers of Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity. He pays for their meals and although that may not seem like a lot to some people. I’m like wow he doesn’t even know them but that is was just
I have gained access to this community through pledgeship in Sigma Chi, one the most prestigious fraternities in the nation, with the hopes of becoming a brother. Even though I have access to this community I know very little because I am so new. Through my research, I have learned and discovered the intricacies and deeper understandings of not just Sigma

You should pick me because I and responsible and trustworthy. I have always enjoyed taking pictures and helping out in school. I’m an Avid student which helps me be organized. I like to get involved and help making a positive school spirit!
During my interview with Jayke Motz, he explained that he woke up to “crackling noise” and discovered fire on the porch and that it was visible at the top of the door. He explained that he ran up the stairs to alert his boss, Bryan and family. Bryan asked Jayke to run outside and get a hose. Jayke informed me that he used the single french door located on “C” side to exit the home. I inquired if he left the door open and he stated “yes”. This factor is believed to have contributed to the rapid fire growth and was a factor in spreading the fire from the front porch “A” side, to the “C” side very rapidly. The entire home was consumed by fire in the center with the upper floors collapsed into the main floor. The exterior walls were remaining with

Doing research on what is needed to become successful in the field of business has benefited me tremendously. Meeting with a Virginia Tech Alum was a once in a lifetime opportunity. The chance to meet with a Virginia Tech Alum to help model the plans I will make to become successful was an opportunity that I’m very thankful for and will never forget. Thanks to the insights of my research and guidance received from the alumni I met with, I intend to approach my next five years in the Pamplin College of Business in a much more organized and determined manner.
...t the top, but to raise the bar higher for those who are reaching for the top. The men of this fraternity set an example of achievement; they show that being the best isn’t enough. That is why I want to be a part of this fraternity, because I want to be set the example, I want to show that being okay isn’t good enough, and I want to show that being an African-American male, I will not be hindered by stereotypes or any other preconceptions. Being able to be a part of this organization that will push me to be the man I can be, rather than pull me down to a lower level; will grant me the opportunity to be able to show that others can make it, just like I did. Kappa Alpha Psi Inc. is the organization I wish to represent, progress, and be a member of because their objectives and goals, represent what I stand for, and I couldn’t see myself joining any other fraternity.
Ilucion who also goes by Carmen is a middle-class, nineteen-year-old student and employee I work with at kohls. She is a second generation American with a prominent Mexican background. Ilucion’s parents came to the United States from Mexico looking for a new start and a better education, her father came to the united states at the age of 16 and attended high school in the U.S to receive his diploma. While her mother came to the united states at the age of 19 looking to go to college, whoever became pregnant and did not further her education. Since they are Mexican they brought along with them the culture and traditions, and it has been an integrative part of her growing up, and help her become who she is today. I choose to interview Ilucion
My affiliation with fraternity has taught me to love and respect our shared community. I also learned that my good actions matter to the lives and well being of the citizens of our community. I know my time and studies at Rutgers University will only grow my understanding of belonging to something greater then myself. I can say as a Man that gathered this when I read the Rutgers mission statement. Rutgers University is here to enrich those who attend and the community at large.

.... Despite having a full time job that I need to support my family and myself and being a full time student, I was able to maintain a 3.9 GPA. I was awarded a Certificate of Commendation for achieving the Dean’s List several times. In the fall of 2011, I was invited to Sigma Beta Delta, international honor society for business, management, and administration.
The intern does not displace regular employees, but works under close supervision of existing staff;
I know that some interns often encounter problems, small or large, during their internship so I am trying to avoid these as much as possible. As a student reflected in The Successful Internship, “As I listened to my classmates talk about their experiences, I felt my insecurities grow. It seemed that I was the only one in the group with any doubts about their internship and what was happening to it” (Sweitzer & King, 2014, p. 224). I can completely understand where this student is coming from as this type of experience has happened to me before, but I strive to do my best and challenge myself to reach my full potential in the workplace.
