The main function of education in modern time is the all-round development of individual and nation. The term general education is sometimes is used to mean the total education programme, which suggests that it includes both vocational and other types of educational programmes. Vocational education prepares learners for careers that are based in manual or practical activities, traditionally non-academic and totally related to a specific trade, occupation or vocation, hence the term, in which the learner participate. Vocational Education Training (VET) is education and training that focuses on providing skills for work. Thousands of courses are offered through the VET education sector in India. VET provides the skills to help people to join the workshop for the first time upgrade skills in their chosen field and move into a different career. Skill development needs, develop processeswith special emphasis on excellent standards and certifications, training of trainers, and proper deliveryof training. From the table1 it is observed the obtained coefficient of variance (c.v) value for government and private polytechnic institution is respectively 39.42 and 15.64.therefor the obtained cv value indicates that in private polytechnic institute the skill development is higher than government.
Therefor the null hypothesis: there is no significant difference of skill development among government and private polytechnic institute is rejected.
Thus it can be concluding that vocational trainee of private polytechnic institute is more skilled than the government institute trainees.
