All people contain a thing within them known as skill. Skill the ability to do something well; expertise. Many people claim that that are skilled in a certain activities. I may take time for people to learn, develop a skill, but some people are naturally skilled at certain things. Whether it is sports, cooking, math, reading, etc. People may use the skills they have or learn to decide what they will do in the future. Skill can be the deciding factor in whether you will be very successful or unsuccessful in certain activities in your life. Not all people know what skills they possess. They will most likely learn it later on in their lifetime. Some people contain skills contain that other people wish they had. Some people have a very high skill level in certain sports. In a gym, for example, a man could have been training for 7 months to reach a 150 pound bench, while another man, who has come in to the gym for his very first time, comes and also benches 150 pounds. The man who was not able to bench 150 bounds on this first go had less skill than the man who came in for his first time and got it on his first try. People with growth mind-sets often believe that one can succeed simply by trying and having the motivation to do so. On the other hand, those with fixed mind-sets believe they are either good or bad at something, while attempting something for the first time. If one can easily do math while another can’t, the one who can’t accepts it and doesn’t feel the need to try succeeding further because they’re just not good at it in the first place.
The Natural Human Learning Process is a process that the brain goes through when learning different skills. According to Dr. Smilkstein’s this process is divided into six steps. The first step is the motivation stage. This step is when the brain begins to gain the desire to do something for many different reasons. Sometimes, she says, we learn things because we feel as though “we have too”. The second step is the beginning practice step. This is the trial and error stage. The third step is the advanced practice stage, where you start doing the action over and over. The fourth step is the skillfulness stage, where you are starting to get really good at what you’re doing. You become more confident about your skill in this stage. The skill starts to become natural because the skill has been tried over continuously. The fifth step is the refinement stage. In this step you start to experiment with doing different things. From the opposed point of view I believe in "Natural Talent" but it still will only take you so far. Some people are really good at recollecting knowledge, processing, understanding and then applying. Some people are just more prone to have a good artistic eye or hand. To be more athletically built, whether it being petite for gymnastic or bulky for football. Saying that, those skills can still be acquired. Accessing one’s personal level of competence could prove to be a daunting task without a focused desire for continued professional development, the help of co-workers, supervisors, continuing education classes, and a genuineness of attitude that isn’t afraid, or resentful of critique. Many people have something in their life that they consider themselves to be exceptional or reasonably competent at.
