On my nursing journey, I started as a CNA working full time and going to school full time. I started from some non-credit courses to credit courses to complete the prerequisites for nursing. After that, I got admission into the nursing program which I graduated with a BSN degree in 2014. I worked as a staff nurse in a medical-surgical unit specifically in the surgical unit. I worked with post-operative patients and the focus are pain management and overall stabilization. In my line of work, I met patients that have acute and chronic pain that needs to be managed or well control. I met people with different concerns that needs to be taken care off. As a nurse, I do not treat a patient as a disease or a case study, but I treat a patient as a whole taking into consideration their physical, emotional and spiritual aspect of their life and referring them to the …show more content…

With integrity- I act with high moral principle. I am a woman of my words. I do what I say I will do and my patients love me for that. I adhere to the highest professional standard and maintain the trust and confidence of all whom I engage with.
With commitment- I work diligently to serve veterans and other beneficiaries. I am committed to my work and the people that I worked with. I am driven by an earnest belief in the VA’s mission by fulfilling my individual responsibilities and organization’s responsibilities.
With advocacy- I am truly veteran centric by identifying, fully considering and appropriately advancing the interest of veterans and other beneficiaries. I advocate for my patients daily by making sure that they get the best care and treatment for whatever that brought them to the hospital.
