Discussion # 1 Disagree
If you know you are going to fail at something, you should still try because you may succeed. For example, I took AP Human Geography last year and I scored a 5 on the AP exam, which is the highest possible score you can make. Initially, I wasn’t going to take that class freshman year because I was pretty sure I couldn’t handle it and would score badly on the AP exam. If I hadn’t taken the class due to my assumption of failure, I would have never gotten any score, let alone a 5 on the exam. My first few attempts to survive in the class involved lots of struggling to obtain a stable grade. Then I gradually began to improve and remembered how important grades are to me. When it came time for the results at the end of the year, I had an excellent score throughout the whole year in the class and the highest possible score on an AP exam. This experience led me to take more AP classes and exams in the future.
Discussion #2 Agree

For example, this year I have taken what are believed to be the two hardest classes of high school simultaneously, AP Physics 1 and World History AP. When we selected courses last year, many people told me that Physics is very difficult to understand and will require a lot of studying just to get basic concepts. People also warned me about the amount of reading and writing involved in World History AP. These comments made me form a prejudgment about how difficult my sophomore was going to be and created a high level of stress before I even got to take the classes myself. Although sometimes you might not believe what people say to you to form a prejudice according to what they say, you can still form your own prejudice based on your
Failing is not an option for many people this means that they will do anything they can to get good grades and keep them there. For many people getting by is just fine and some just don’t care at all, normally collage is where people get weeded out. During this time in life most adults know the meaning of failing and what consequences it will have, number one being the loss of money for the class that must be taken a second time. However sometimes one might fail due to distractions or problems
I walked out of sophomore AP world history and human geography not only with greater historical awareness, but also the ability to utilize that awareness to engage with other disciplines. In pushing beyond mere identification and recall, APWH challenged me to shift away from passively accepting information at face-value, to understand how context and rhetoric framed knowledge. In constantly deconstructing the nature of historical and empirical evidence and the lenses in which objects of scrutiny are extracted-- especially those defined by conflict and transformations--, I learned to be conscientious of how authors’ material conditions and interests shaped the presentation of given narratives. In-class emphasis of making historical connections while reading became ingrained into my

Everyone strives to be the greatest, especially teenagers in school, failing can be upsetting when it comes to failing a class or grade. Failure in school can have a huge impact on a student's future. When students aim for a goal it's either accurate or precise depending on their mindset.

...ly or mentally, a conscious effort to injure others that is no obvious benefit to the human race is not good. I believe that people try to do good most of the time. For example, the person had a motorcycle accident. He hated by a car on the local road and stocked under the car. The car was flamed. This news is from the yesterday of FOX25. When I saw many people stopped and together to get the car off the person and being without thinking about the flames, I am so grateful. The man was saved and no life injury and the story have a good ending. Accordingly, people are innately good. I think I am actually a good person. I like to open doors, push in chairs, listen to people, and help little kids. No meter outside the world how changed it doesn’t influence my good personality at all. I agree Carl Rogers’s theory people should be capable of becoming conscious good.
If they are fundamentally good, then they are not immoral, misguided or evil as I was once taught. After my confusing past, I am still seeking and searching for that one possibly perfect spiritual fit. Through deep soul searching, more education and continually giving back I will find it some day.
Some people are mostly good, some are mostly bad, but none are good or evil.
Initial Reflective Essay When I first thought of what I wanted to do with my life after college, the first thing I thought of was helping people. The next step in deciding what I wanted to do with my life was to examine how I could accomplish this goal. I started pondering and I was thinking about how much I love to take care of my body. Health care and personal hygiene has always been an important factor in my life. So I decided to major in Health Sciences.
A second example is when I see someone using food stamps, and they are of a different race than myself I assume they are just using the Government, and taking advantage of the money earned by hard working individuals. The reason these individuals use food stamps could be they lost their jobs, and have no money to buy food and need help to get through this tough stage in their lives. Also, I tend to repeatedly make prejudice opinions/judgments about certain friends of mine on Facebook. When they post a status about something going on in their lives; I automatically assume they think their lives are more important than anyone else’s and that we want to hear all about it. I need to realize that by using these prejudice opinions/judgments toward others not only affects the person I place my judgments and opinions upon, but those prejudice actions affect myself because people see my wrongful opinions and not my caring personality. I can alter my behavior and enhance my interpersonal interactions by becoming more knowledgeable, motivated, and skilled. I can develop more knowledge about a person by asking questions and establishing
Being a good person is something that everyone strives to do. For most, it is a subconscious thing we do. For others being a good person is a way of life, not just a superficial “look at me and what I do,” but a deep spiritual understanding that everything one does in their daily life is beneficial to others around that person.
Why are Bad People Bad? There are good people, people, and bad people. People do as people do. Good people do this function well.
A recent failure that has changed how I go about my daily life is one that many college freshman experience in their first year. In high school I was a very good student, but I did not have to put in a lot of effort to get the grades that I wanted. I would joke with my friends and say that high school taught me how to put in the least amount of effort, and still get the maximum result. All of my teachers told me, as they did every student, that college was going to be different and if you do not put in more effort it would be very difficult. I knew this coming into school, but I am not sure if part of me wanted to prove people wrong, or if I actually was just adjusting to college life. I did not study as much as I should of, and as a result my grades suffered. Luckily I did not completely ruin my grade point average, but since first semester I have completely changed my study habits. This has taught a much needed lesson about hard work, and I am determined to never again fail at my studies. I am the kind of person that learns a lot from failures. My dad has always told me it is ok to make a mistake, but never make the same mistake twice. This I a motto that I live by.
Education contains a multitude of different areas of study, from English studies to an assortment of different sciences. Often overlooked among the group of diverse practices, there is social studies. However, regardless of it being looked over often, social studies happens to be the area of study that I wish to major in for the reason that I wish to teach to high school students, to do that I have to know the answer to a few questions. The questions I must personally answer are, what is social studies? Why and how should we teach social studies? What makes me a good teacher candidate for social studies?
When starting this course, I was introduced to the main questions surrounding the field of Social Studies Education: What is Social Studies? Why and How should we teach it? From this class I have been able to understand each of these questions and how they interplay with one another, in order formulate my own thoughts on each. This combination of these questions ultimately defines why I feel I would be a good candidate to teach Social Studies. When coming to a conclusion regarding what the topic of social studies is, I realized that ultimately, it’s about people. The way people interact, alter their landscape, build systems of government, and shape the current society from past events. Each of these different human actions, it defines a specific
