Introduction paragraph “Quote Prompts”
(#4) The British naturalist and politician John Lubbock wrote, “Your character will be what you yourself choose to make it.” Do we choose our own character traits, or is our character formed by influences beyond our control? In other words, Character is the qualities that vary in individuals.Childrens character is the most concerned these days. Adults believe that character in a child is usually developed depending of how the child was raised during childhood however, rising 9th graders, believe that they can self mold themselves a character through finding friends and making mistakes in high school. What many people fail to realize is that it all varies on the child.
(#5)Thomas Jefferson wrote, “Determine

Everyone strives to be the greatest, especially teenagers in school, failing can be upsetting when it comes to failing a class or grade. Failure in school can have a huge impact on a student's future. When students aim for a goal it's either accurate or precise depending on their mindset.
(#14) It has been said, “Failure is not the worst thing in the world. The very worst is not to try.” Do you agree or disagree with this statement? In other words, Failure isn't the worst thing that can be faced but , not at least trying is. High school students face failure at least once in their high school years however, this can be avoided if you just at least try. Trying sometimes might not have the best outcome but it's better than the outcome of someone not trying at all. Students should at least put a little effort in their work even if they feel it's

Americans sometimes have trouble making first impressions.Although many factors can affect someone's first impression, Statistic show that 55 percent of first impressions is actually about appearance and body language. Which means depending on how someones day is going can potentially affect their first impression. How people first present themselves the first time they meet can change they way someone may view their character.
(#11) Dedication, persistence and time are all a factor to accomplishing a goal.College students know that dedication, persistence and time are all factors to accomplishing a goal. It also can depend on the goal itself to see what else is needed to be successful. Many college students believe that dedication, persistence, and time is key to accomplishing a goal. Depending on the student's grade level depends on their dedication also.
(#13) Do you believe that Health food can power the brain and the body? Many parents believe that their should be more health food present in the cafeteria room. Although, many students feel they get their power from their favorite foods, healthy or not. Students should have a variety of both because if the students make the wrong choice of food it's on them not the school’s cafeteria because they provided both. The school and students should both make good
First impressions are created by a composite of signals given off by a new experience (Flora, 2004). The judgment of these impressions depends on the observer and the person being observed (Flora, 2004). When you meet someone for the first time it takes about three seconds to be evaluated by the observer (Mind Tools, 1996-2011,). During this time the person forms an opinion about you based on your appearance, your body language, your demeanor, and how you dress (Mind Tools, 2996-2011,). Impressions are important to us because they are impossible to be reserved and the set the tone for all the relationships that follow (Mind Tools, 1996-2011).
Failure is one aspect of life that no one can avoid. The terror that comes from failure is that it has the power to break someone down to where they feel they can not get up and overcome the situation. Failing at a situation seems to make all hard work vanish in an instant, as if all the time and effort that was put forth into succeeding was never even there. Although failure can hurt and cause anxiety and even depression, it also allows a person to discover that even though they have been crushed they can still conquer it and succeed in the end.
As a typical college student, I suffer from daily stresses, lack of sleep and lack of a proper diet. I have pulled countless all nighters; my body and brain fueled only by coffee, chocolate and pizza, in order finish a paper or study for an exam. As a result, I may have done better on the paper or test, but I was being very unkind to my body and brain. In terms of nutrition, it is important to think of the brain as just another organ in the body. The food and other substances we put into our bodies affect our behavior, mood, thoughts and emotions. The brain responds very quickly to proper nutrition. However, as a college student who dines daily in the dining hall, I most likely do not get the nutrients needed to maximize my brain potential. In this paper, I'm going to take you through a day of brain friendly meals and explain why our brains and bodies need more than coffee, chocolate and pizza to thrive and survive.
Why do job candidate wear a suit for a job interview? Why do defense attorneys have their clients dress neatly and get a haircut before they are seen before a Jury? First impressions are considered to be essential. Many crucial decisions involve forming impressions about another person. Decisions about the ability of prospective job candidates, judgments about the suitability of expert financial advisors, and even choices between alternate dating partners all involve processing information about other people. Whether we are meeting our possible love interest or our new boss for the first time, the first impression created by them will probably determine our likelihood of getting the job that we hope for or the relationship we are seeking. When you meet a customer for the first time, or during the first moments of a presentation, the impression they form will form their perception of any additional information. It is very customary to hear people talk about the importance of giving a good first impression. Schneider, Hastorf, and Ellsworth in their research suggest that one of the first judgments people make about a person is whether they like the person or not, and that judgments based on physical attractiveness are immediate. The very first moment in which we meet someone, if they make a good first impression in that moment, you will tend to reject any negative attributes shown later in the person. However, if someone were to make a bad first impression, you will have a hard time making a positive influence later on. In summary, forming an overall picture of what other people are like is fundamental to many decisions in our daily life.
Moreover, the controversy over cafeteria food is whether or not it is healthy for all students from elementary schools to colleges. Numerous factors lead to unhealthy eating in schools and on campuses. Sometimes options with better nutrition are offered, but when there are, they tend to be less appealing than the unhealthy foods which turns to obesity. Many schools are undergoing budget cuts and changes, and healthy food tends to take a back burner when deciding where the limited amounts of money should go (Gupta). Unfortunately, when schools do have healthy ingredients, the food is usually prep...
The quote “Your character is what you yourself choose to make it.” is a complete lie. There are some things a human cannot control, their character trait just happens to be one of those things. Life throws us good and bad influences that shape and form us into who we are. There are true stories, there are facts and these influences will determine who you become in the future. Let me explain.
Failure is apart of life, it can make or break a person. When a person experiences a type of failure it is now up to them to see how they respond. They can choose the high road, and become a stronger person for it. Then they can choose the low road, the easy way out. The easy way out is never a good choice. It can lead only to destruction. The high road is the right choice to take when responding to failure. It will lead down a path of success. Jessica Lahey’s article, “When Success Leads to Failure” is an article that shows how kids are experiencing failure. Lahey says that, “these kids have a fear for failure, and that they have given up natural loves for learning. They are scared of not being successful”(Lahey). The truth is life is hard there will be failure. There is nothing in this world that comes easy to anyone.
Have you ever tasted school cafeteria food? I don’t think you would want to. In school story books, do you have characters saying that the food tasted good at school cafeterias? Nope. Why is this? Cafeteria food is often cheap, bought in bulk, high in calories, malnutritious, and microwaved. Student polls and opinions prove this. Therefore, this leads to a suggestion: Healthier, tastier foods and a better, advanced lunch system should be implemented.
If you know you are going to fail at something, you should still try because you may succeed. For example, I took AP Human Geography last year and I scored a 5 on the AP exam, which is the highest possible score you can make. Initially, I wasn’t going to take that class freshman year because I was pretty sure I couldn’t handle it and would score badly on the AP exam. If I hadn’t taken the class due to my assumption of failure, I would have never gotten any score, let alone a 5 on the exam. My first few attempts to survive in the class involved lots of struggling to obtain a stable grade. Then I gradually began to improve and remembered how important grades are to me. When it came time for the results at the end of the year, I had an excellent score throughout the whole year in the class and the highest possible score on an AP exam. This experience led me to take more AP classes and exams in the future.
Making a good first impression is of the utmost importance, for research studies indicate that the impression made in the first few seconds of an initial encounter has a long-lasting effect and very rarely changes over time. Positive first impressions can be made by being well-dressed and groomed, by being confident and self-assured, and by smiling and making eye contact when meeting someone for the first time.
Finally, as you can see, first impressions do have a great affect on people who meet you. They are the base of all relationships. First impressions are very important socially, educationally, and employment wise. Impressions on people usually last forever. Although people have second impressions, the first ones are very important.
Nobody wants to fail, everybody wishes to succeed in life. The fear of failure can be broken down into many things. Some people are afraid of failing in school, others are afraid of failing at work or even in a relationship. Failing in school can cause an extreme amount of stress especially in a teenager. When completing task in school and putting all the effort then getting back a bad grade it a put a huge damper on things.
“This is a commitment. Do not give up because it’s hard. Do it because you want it.” –Larry Fitzgerald. Going to college is a long term commitment and an investment into ones future. With any commitment comes the struggle and when it comes to college, it can be a major struggle for individual to succeed and thrive. Students must bunker down and focus if they want to succeed in school and not lose sight of their goals. Three major effects can come contributed to college struggling are time management, malnutrition, and debt.
Failed! How does that make you feel that you failed something? I bet it is not a great feeling. Students these days are failing their classes but they get passed on because they are either a athlete or their parents are important to the community. I think this is wrong on both parts. The teachers are paid to teach us students what we need to know to pass the class. We should not just pass the students on to the next class if they do not understand the information in the current class.
It doesn’t matter if they are failing or success, the only thing matter is how hard people are trying during the process. The value of success will worth and have respect after they walk through failure. It’s important on how people stand up after they failed, not how they failed, because everyone will fail at least one time on their life. A good example of people who fail but they stand up and learn from it is people who play sport. At first time of playing, no one will good at sport. Sometime they make a common mistake when they start play but if they learn from it, they won’t make that same mistake again during the game. To have that success they have to make mistake and fail during the practice so they can learn from it and practice to overcome their failure. But people who never fail when they play, they may make a common mistake on the
