The organizations which we work for and belong to, are highly adaptive and ever evolving by their design and nature, with profits from production and service driving innovation over competitors. These organisms thrive on the collective learning and knowledge of; recent and distance successes and mistakes both within and external to the organization. All of which serves as points of learning that provide lesson to be distilled and applied accordingly. The crux to this collective experiential learning, and change for the better, is the feedback-loop. Feedback-loops, as covered throughout our text book, take on many shapes and forms to include;

This is because it has such vast and seemingly lasting positive effects on individual and collective performance at work; as well as on overall efficiency and productivity of the work force and the organization at large. In simplest terms this is classic dilemma of the carrot or the stick. Wherein, here we are focused on the stick portion of the alternatives available. The point is that all persons are for the most part more easily and effectively inspired and motivated to perform and achieve when compelled by greater and lasting rewards that they are by fear of punishment and pain. Because while the motivation of fear and pain have their place and purpose, the indirect results of their looming over us is counter product. The side effects of fear and anxiety are truly debilitating over time. While the desire for recognition and reward serve to inspire and compel proper and effective thought and actions, which are not centered on fear and anxiety and do not serve to manifest the same inhibitors to sustained performance, they do not create debilitation and impotence over time. But, instead generate completion and excellence. Simply put by applying positive reinforcement in a timely manner to those behavior and performance desired most, collective learning encourages and ensures more likewise behaviors as all strive in turn to
Leaders benefit from building a team to create and implement change, this is a key theme in the Kotter model of change. This teambuilding engages employees throughout the process. Allowing employees to be a part of the change process gives them the opportunity and trust to be creative moving toward the future (Cochrane, 2002). Leaders can create opportunity for employees and leaders to dialogue about the change, which can help troubleshoot the process. Learning through mistakes is innovative learning. Leaders who encourage new strategies and allow for mistakes encourage more participation in their organization. Employees who know that it is permissible to make mistakes in incorporating a new approach will be more likely to do so. Pay Satisfaction, Job Satisfaction, and Turnover Intent by Parbudyal Singh and Natasha Loncar examines the relationship between employee position and salary satisfaction and job turnover. The 4 Rs of Motivation by Michael Maccoby suggests a formula from which leaders should pull to motivate subordinates, and Relations Between Leader-Subordinate Personality Similarity and Job Attitudes by Lior Oren, Aharon Tziner, Gil Sharoni, Iafit Amor, and Pini Alon examines the effect the relationship between leaders and subordinates has upon job satisfaction.

Norman Brinker has become known as an entrepreneur, pioneer, visionary and mentor in the restaurant industry. He has been involved in the industry for over 40 years. In the 1950’s Norman Brinker started his career in restaurants as partner in the Jack-in-the-Box restaurant chain. Here Brinker found a new love for the restaurant business.
In my opinion, there are some managerial roles that a manager needs to follow to become successful in the company. Depending on organizations these managerial roles changes and to be successful in business, every organization must assign right person for managerial roles. Finding a right person to a particular managerial role is really hard to do but there is another factor that we can consider here, which is the managerial skills. Managerial skills help a person to perform the managerial roles effectively. So by evaluating a person’s managerial skills we can identify whether he is suitable for particular managerial job or not. There is a company called Tata group, which is one of India’s biggest company, follows certain procedures which is called the Tata way, for dealing managers which includes hiring, training and assigning efficiently and effectively. This is reason why managerial job in the Tata group became my favorite job. This paper examines how this unique procedure for dealing managers make the Tata group successive and how can the study of organizational behavior help to replicate it and maybe even improve it.
Over the course of this class I have learned how important it is to be creative and innovative in the way that businesses are conducted within the organizations. The ability to innovate is the “secret sauce” of business success (Dyer, et al., 2009). However, creativity and innovation cannot take place if the leaders are not willing to foster a culture of innovation within the organization. Amabile & Khaire (2008) asserted that, it is essential to motivate people to contribute ideas by making it safe to fail. Stress that the goal is to experiment constantly, fail early and often—and learn as much as possible in the process. Convince people that they won’t be punished or humiliated if they speak up or make mistakes (Amabile & Khaire, 2008).
The environment of business is always changing. With increases in workload and responsibilities, managers have found that their importance in the work environment has also increased. In order to help managers and supervisors learn more about the complexity of the new workforce many different areas of study have been developed. One area of study that has increased in importance over the years is the study of organizational behavior. In order to understand the importance of organizational behavior, we must first define exactly what organizational behavior is and what it covers. Organizational behavior is the study of attitudes and behavior of individuals and groups in organizations (Johns 6). Organizational behavior tries to examine different types of workers in all types of different situations. Organizational behavior aims to help managers and supervisors in many ways. It plays a role in all facets of an organization. Finance, marketing, and production are just departments within an organization. It studies the human behavior within the organization and the relationship between human behavior and the organization.
Taking this class this semester has really changed the way that I have viewed myself when it has come to work and the different companies that I have worked before. I have taken a psychology class before but I have never taken one that relates to management and organizations. This class has really helped me answer different questions such as why I was unhappy at some jobs, enjoyed some managers over others, and what motivated me to work hard at jobs. It’s good to learn that there are different terms and definitions for different feeling and things I experienced at jobs to know that their other people experiencing these things also. I will be going into a management position after I graduate, and this class helped me to learn many different ways to go about managing and things to avoid to keep a positive working environment.

Organizational behavior is important to many organizations because it helps management understand their employees’ attitude as well as behavior while they interact with one and other at the work place.
