As a student teacher, the main responsibility is to learn and expand on our knowledge, disposition, and performance. Through my observations I have learned the most important point to set is the class expectations at the beginning of the school year. When setting class expectations at the beginning of the year and being consistent with it, the students will know what is expected of them, which, influences positive behavior. Another method of classroom management that I learned, is the proper usage of the clip chart and teacher student discussions. These classroom management tools, model proper behavior to the students and show them the rewards and consequences of behavior choices.

Having a well thought-out comprehensive behavior management plan, and well- designed lesson plans, which addresses the various learning styles of the students in the class and gets all the students engaged in the learning activity.
Classroom management is a necessary component for teachers to appreciate and apply to positively manage and adjust behavior within the learning environment. It is important that teachers develop a sound perceptive of significant theories that will result in enhanced teaching and practices within the class (Lyons, Ford & Slee, 2014). Goal Centred Theory, Cognitive Behavioural Theory and Assertive Discipline Theory are three prominent management theories that will endure analysis. Therefore, consolidating the main elements that underpin the theories will assist in developing positive practices of classroom management.
Establish a sense of responsibility by creating rules and expectations as a class. Have clear visual cues of responsibilities and consequences around the room. Use the support of other staff in implementing classroom management strategies. Use the school discipline system to monitor student behaviour. If students engage in misbehaviour, they receive a warning and are then sent to the timeout desk to reflect and write in the timeout book.
When children are learning there education it is very important for the children to have all the motivation that they can handle as an individual child do to the way each child learns on a normal basis. Motivation is what drives us to do the things that we do. It is something that needs to be cultivated in the classroom from the beginning of the year. The teacher needs to understand how each individual child is motivated and what peaks their interest. I will praise the students and make them feel good about themselves. I want each student to know that I care about them and want to do all I can to help them learn and grow. As the teacher I will make sure to always keep the students motivated and engaged. In order for that to happen my role as the teacher is to plan and develop activities that students will find motivating. Intrinsic motivation is motivation that students have within themselves. Intrinsic motivation is when a student is motivated to do something due to you own interest and curiosity. It is the motivation you have within you and is personally rewarding. For example, researching a topic of interest because you want to know more about it for your own sake. The way in which I would promote intrinsic motivation in my classroom is by focusing on setting personally meaningful goals so that all the students feel challenged, stimulating curiosity to peak interest, clarifying the cause and effect relationships between what we’re learning in comparison to real life things, using fantasy to help students imagine themselves in real-life settings and recognizing and appreciating each and every accomplishment each student makes so that they can feel satisfied and appreciated.

I try imparting into them the importance of an education and how they contribute to the growth of our society. In my classroom, I am in control. I draw a clear line between what and how much my students are allowed to do in the classroom. In the first week of school, I establish my authority and I clearly and explicitly express my classroom and outside the classroom procedures that will be followed and the rights that every student has in the classroom. As stated earlier, I believe Classroom Management is the key to how learning can take place and students can feel safe participating. I hope to create an environment that is conducive to learning and involves all my students.
