Finding a job with a thriving workplace culture can be a challenge, but the payout is worth it in the end. Jobs where the employees are happy and thriving are going to be the best options for the employee obviously but as well as the employer. If the employer is able to keep their employees happy, they will be more productive which in turn will boost profits for the company.
Workplace culture is the basically the values, traditions, attitudes, beliefs and interactions of a company. Workplace culture is very important as it attracts talent, encourages employees to stay with the company, and is the basis on moral in the organization. I currently am employed by Quality Cellular which is a U.S. Cellular Agent. Responsibilities I have include but are not limited to, assisting customers, keeping the store clean, cash management, inventory management, as well as just being able to talk to people. Quality Cellular or QC as we call it is a very good job for many reasons. The atmosphere is very laid back as management puts a lot of trust onto the employees. This laid back environment is perfect for multiple reasons, first employee morale is high and second customers are able to come into a relaxed environment. The relationship between management and employee is strong at QC. First of all our managers are very understanding people who are always willing to help us out if needed. Flexible scheduling is also a plus. One thing that is different from other jobs ive worked at is that the managers are much more personable and casual. This can be beneficial but also at times detrimental. It is beneficial because having a good relationship with your manager is great but at the same time if a person gets too relaxed and comfortable with a manager they might be more likely to act inappropriately. One plus about the workplace culture of QC is the fact that the employees have easy access to the owners of the company which means there is an open line of communication.
While my workplace is pretty laidback for the most part, there are also some strict rules. Since we work with the private information of people on a daily basis, we are subject to strict privacy rules in order to ensure that our customers private information is safe. We always have to make sure to shred documents with private information and to verify every customer with a photo ID. Privacy violations are one of the few offenses at QC that could potentially cause instant termination. If it’s a more minor offense a write up is more
