Introduction
Ethical values may come in all shapes and sizes; we may grow up with a certain set of ethics and/or values that change and conform to our environment. This widely depends on where we end up later in life as in our professional career or our personal lives because different situations can affect how we interrupt ethics and social responsibility. Work may influence or provide a new set of lenses in how ethics are viewed. We are given a set of ethics to adhere to while employed. One of the values we share is integrity. We want to be proud of the work we do and the lives we lead. Integrity is at the heart of who we are.” (Kohl’s) Kohl’s realizes that it is their reputation that is on the line and if employees who cannot work with the highest integrity or honesty will ultimately fail in their positions.
The following caption from an article depicting whether or not retailers like Kohl’s are being honest with their consumers; “Consumers flock to Kohl 's (KSS) and TJX 's (TJX) T.J. Maxx, expecting deep markdowns on apparel and other department store staples. They may not be getting the bargains that they think they 're getting. Both retailers are being sued in different lawsuits, alleging that the discounts being promoted on price tags are deceptive. Anyone shopping at Kohl 's or T.J. Maxx knows the drill. Items appear to be on sale, referring to higher original or "compare at" prices. It helps justify or validate the purchase, and the argument here is that publishing these higher prices works on the psychology of the shopper. Conclusion In conclusion, I read several reviews provided on the InDeed.com job research website. Many of the reviews were positive that contained honest feedback in how they felt about their job and the values/culture created at their particular store. Culture is created in how we work with the ethics provided at our positions. If successful, it emulates throughout the entire workforce. There is bound to be a few “bad eggs”, but that is pretty typical, as we do not live in a perfect world. Several comments about, “the managers being the best” and “mangers are great to work with”, or even “run for your life” due to poor management occurring. Regardless of the comments, most were very strong which reflects that their ethic program works. So the next time you arrive at the office, go in with positive thoughts and start your role in becoming a front runner in supporting your company ethics. It will pay off in the long
