The meaning of Public health is being concerned with many different ways of improving and protecting the health that consists of the whole population and through teaching how to maintain a healthy lifestyle, which includes from researching on how to prevent injury and keeping infectious diseases under control. This includes the assistance of professionals such as doctors/nurses where they focus on helping to promote healthcare and ways of developing educational programs. (CDC Foundation, 2017). It indicates with both making a point of trying to extend people’s life. Yet the differences are where public health helps to guide people eat the right foods and vaccination updated and provides programs needed to guide them in the right direction. Then Health promotion is a type of program that helps them understand about healthy lifestyle and educate about vaccinations. What specific health promotion activity was provide in your community during the past one year and what was the beneficial result? Taking into consideration the size of our community, this is from young children to elderly. Where it promotes safe/fun activities that include walking at least thirty minutes a day, benefits of physical activity, low impact exercise/physical activity, nutrition programs that provide healthy eating habits, and making sure to promote health education when needed (State, nj). The one I would say would be Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act (PPACA) this provides more people with the correct type of health coverage. In addition, with the ones those have preexisting conditions denied health coverage. With Medicaid, this provides and allows the expansion of the elderly, lower income and with chronically illnesses to be covered (The American Nurses Association (ANA), n.d.).
