Ever sense the birth of the United States of America, they have welcomed immigrants; but, as years past, more varieties of immigrants arrived in the U.S. Today, in society one of the highest percentages of Immigrants the country gets is Mexican. In present day Mexico, Mexican drug lords, and thugs threaten the lives of many Mexican children, so their parents do everything in their power to get their kids over to the land of hopes, and dreams, the U.S.A. A lot of people want to send a lot of the Mexicans back to Mexico along with the children but at Together United they will accept Mexican children to learn the American language, culture, and currency, they also will be given farming opportunities like raising animals for the local fair which will teach them responsibilities. At United Together we also have a foster parent program where the child will spend the first part of their life with an American family. …show more content…
Out of all Hispanics in the U.S. only 62% speak English which is why we should teach the 38% that don’t speak English: how to speak English. With the children learning the cultures they will know how to do some of the American customs and ethics to get ahead in American life. With the American Currency program, the children will know the difference in their original currency, and American currency. One of the organization’s new games is count the American currency, if the child completes the task they will be given the amount of money in the bag. This new program will surely give them a head start in American

1. According to Pizarro, “Chicanas and Chicanos face the highest dropout rates of any major ethnic group in the United States- as many as half of a given cohort of Chicana and Chicano students does not complete high school- and their relative educational outcomes have been stable or have worsened over time.” (Pizarro, 1).
Are you tired of the stereotypical lies about Hispanics? Well I’m here to clear that up. Not all Hispanics are Mexican or Immigrants like society has told you. Not every Hispanic is a poor, Spanish speaking Immigrant. Society does not know who you are, unless they know recognize your language, origin, and culture accurately!
Physician Outmigration —Unfortunately there is a great outmigration of physicians because they the lack of funding. According to NPR, It comes to no surprise that according to NPR, in 2016, at least one doctor a day leaves the island
While reading this article one of the most shocking sections were when the students were talking to Monzó and sharing their outlook on their place and their language’s place in society. These students even at this early age are feeling how devalued their first language has been. They feel like they have to speak the right* English, only use English in public places, never their first language, and that they must assimilate to the American culture as much as possible. This reminded me of a chapter in Lippi-Green (2012)’s text. Within this chapter Lippi-Green (2012) discusses how in the United States Spanish speakers are not only expected to learn English but they are expected to learn and utilize the right* English determined by the majority and assimilate entirely to American culture. Throughout Monzó and Rueda (2009)’s text the children in conversations expressed their observation of the social order in relation to language and race. This was surprising to me since they are only in 5th grade. During a conversation with one of the children Monzó and Rueda (2009) recorded an alarming statement, “He said that his mother could not be considered American because she did not...
A large number of people in the Hispanic community whether Hispanics are not able to get the English literacy skills that they need not because they want to keep born in Latin America or the United States, speak Spanish primarily. This is basically because in present day time, Hispanics are more likely to pass Spanish to their kids now than they have done in the past. (Ortiz, P.149) This is seen as a social problem, especially because of the fact that there is an increasing demand that English should only be taught in public school and it should also be spoken within the Spanish community. Even though Hispanics do speak a lot of Spanish most of the time, they still do learn English also, especially the young. But, because of the large flow of immigrants, the use of Spanish is used more often because they are constantly encountering immigrants who speak no English. (Ortiz, P. 150) Before hand there has been said to have been lower achievements when Hispanics make frequent use of the Spanish la...
Did you know America is a nation built on immigrants? (Schwartz,2017). Immigration is a very popular topic right now and it's important to talk about it. Keeping innocent people out of our country based on fear is not right. Immigrants and terrorists are two different words, but some people may believe it is one. It is not right to keep immigrants out of our country based on religion, gender, or ethnicity. My reasons are immigrants are in need of help, we need to stick to our values, and they make a contribution to America. As you keep reading you will understand why.
Let me start with the fact that Mac is lonely. He whines all the time, you even say so yourself. Well, that is simply because, as www.dogbreed.info.com puts it, dogs are pack animals, meaning they have an instinct to live among a group. It is not natural for dogs to be alone and it can sometimes be hard for them to accept it. Yes, I’ve done my research. It would be such a help to animals if we adopted them. If we did this, we would also benefit. I have a list of the steps you need to take to complete an adoption at EDCR.
In Gonzales article, “Community Support Can Help Integrate Immigrants”, he explains the challenges that undocumented immigrants in America endure. However, because of the relative complexity of creating new laws or reforms that would help these immigrants integrate into society, Gonzales specifies that he doubts Congress will be able to make any effective changes with the next few years. Instead, Gonzales proposes a few ways that different communities would be able to assist. For example, he mentions that at a local level, neighborhood institutions could provide job-training services, at schools, they could provide sensitivity-training for staff, and at a state-level, they could provide literacy programs. To conclude his article, Gonzales reiterates the overall benefit of providing aid to immigrants would lead to greater rewards. He does so by saying that undocumented immigrants contribute an estimated 11.64 billion a year to state and local taxes. However, he believes that with additional local benefits, their contribution would be even greater.
When things go downhill in your life, you tend to only focus on what you’re going through and completely ignore the fact that many others could be going through the same exact thing. It’s not easy to accept that other people are feeling the same pain as you. Something goes wrong, it’s like the end of the world for you. That was me at the age of 9.
Immigrants leave their countries in search for a better life and improvement of their situation. There is no singular reason for immigration; motivations range from better economic prospects to political safety. As of late, the number of immigrants living in the United States is an estimated 11 million. Those who immigrate are expected to contribute to the United States culturally, politically, and economically. Yet, full assimilation becomes difficult to achieve when the immigrant is made into “the other” by the country of reception.
If you are an immigrant or just want to live in one of the best counties in the world illegally, with no penalty if you get caught come to Americana. They will welcome you with open aims Just like (Fred Reed) – said in “Why Blame Mexico” (we say to impoverished Mexicans, “See this river? Don’t cross it. If you do, we’ll give you good jobs, driver’s licenses, citizenship for your kids born here, school for said kids, public assistance, governmental documents in Spanish for your convenience, and a much better future. There is no penalty for getting caught. Now, don’t cross this river, hear?” How smart is that? We’re baiting them. It’s like putting out a salt lick and then complaining when deer come. Immigrant parents would be irresponsible not
“Adopting one child won 't change the world: but for that child, the world will change.” (Unknown)(Buzzle.com). Adoption can take place in multiple shapes, forms, and fashions. You can adopt from a local adoption agency, or adopt from an orphanage half way around the world. You can adopt a child whose parents are no longer living, or you could adopt from a young mother who is not ready to raise a child. You can adopt one child who has touched your heart from an orphanage in Uganda, or a set of triplets being moved around from house to house in foster care. There are still further motivations and reasons for adopting. What if you and your spouse are unable to become pregnant? The desire to be parents does not diminish with the lack of
