I am writing to you in hopes that I might persuade you to give me an extra 10 points to my semester average. I strongly believe that my great courage to pass the semester will affect you to give those 10 points. I really need the 10 points to pass the class, and I will prove to you that I really need the points to pass this class.
I realized I needed the 10 points when I checked my grades on parent portal, so I used that grade as my motivation to pass the class. Then I began to think to myself. What if the teacher never gave me this opportunity? What if I don’t get the points? Ever since you brought up the topic I was satisfied to hear this.
One complaint I have about getting the 10 points is that we have to prove to you if our writing is
worthy of getting the 10 points. Not everyone needs the points so almost certainly they won't have reasons as to why they have to write this letter. On my case I do need the points because I was absent one day and missed my work. I was lazy to ask for what i had missed then this assignment came along to help me bring up my grade. I do not believe that you Mrs. Stigger have to offer me this to bring my grade up. I should be the one worried about my grade not you. I believe that if I really wanted to bring my grade up I should have asked you for the extra credit. Instead of you coming to me and offering me this extra credit. I hope you will consider these thoughts when you read my letter on why I deserve the extra credit. As a student of yours I will become smarter and not fail your class this year. Next semester you will see an improved student.
It’s fall everyone and Halloween is coming.I would like to tell you that fall is the best season of all.
On Saturday, September 26th, we had an amazing event. We had the color run also known as the Happiest 5k on the Planet. It is on almost every single continent on the Earth. A lot of people go to these events to run and they also go to have fun. This run is the best 10-minute run you will ever have and it is about having the time of your life.
Well, a place where to live is essential for everybody. Today I am going to show you a less expensive, practical and ecofriendly solution for this basic but indispensable necessity.
“Motivation is the process whereby goal-orientated activity is instigated and sustained” (Schunk, Pintrich & Meece, 2008. As cited in Eggen & Kauchak, 2010, p.284). Motivation comes in many forms and can be divided into two broad categories - extrinsic and intrinsic motivation. Extrinsic motivators are external factors which can motivate a student; rewards are an example of this. An issue with extrinsic motivators is that the desire for the learner to participate often lessens, once the rewards are withdrawn (McCullers, 1987). On the other hand intrinsic motivation comes from within - learning for the joy of it - where the desire to learn leads to a higher level of knowledge, and is a reward in itself. Kohn (1996, p.285) states that research suggests, “Rewards actually decrease interest in intrinsically motivating tasks, therefore sending the wrong message about learning” (as cited in Eggen & Kauchak, 2010a)
Specific Purpose Statement: To persuade my audience that I should be the next class President The 16th president Abraham Lincoln once said "Character is like a tree and reputation is like a Shadow. The shadow is what we think of it, the tree is the real thing."
How many of you are in a multi-gender sport where guys and girls play on the same team. Not as many of you as say when you were little. When you are at that age your skill is relatively the same. So with title 9, there needs to be some adjustment because girls can play "boy" sports such as football, wrestling and much more.
I stand next to the stage as they announce the winner of the science fair. “And the winner is…” The government official opens a small red envelope, “Lucas and his perpetual motion machine! Tomorrow he’ll be flown to the capital, where he will be naturalized into the government’s top research crew, to study and find ways to help the world with this invention.
If you want to live longer and happier as a whole then Dan Buettner gives a great Ted talk on the
...hem and show them that everything is possible and black excellence is real. Some need that motivation and need to see things like this really happen. So I can’t keep telling them to get good grades and do well in school if I’m not demonstrating it to them. That wouldn’t be a good role model. I’m the first in my family to go to college and I have to finish strong. I haven’t let them down yet, so I can’t let them down now. Overall I think that I’ve been a great student in this class which is why when I receive my final grade I’d like to see a grade that I want. I learned my lesson with this course and that’s to do my work on time, stop procrastinating, and ask questions. So I won’t ever be in this predicament again. After writing this paper I can’t to conclusion that I definitely deserve a good grade. So I’m claiming it. I’m going to leave Math 170 with a good grade.
Plus, in the end I strived for my best possible grade. This
Did you know that 105 of 128 public schools that offer ninth grade are way below standard? Did you know that, sixty percent of children in fifth grade cannot recognize the difference between a circle or a triangle? Did you know that an ambulance takes forty minutes to arrive after a call? Did you know that in Campinas, 13.28 people are murdered per capita? And that Campinas is the third city in the state with more murderers and the forty ninth nationally speaking? That is why we have to change. We cannot live in fear of going outside like now, we cannot lose our hopes when calling an ambulance. We have to believe in public school’s system.
“Parents rip teachers when their children get a C”, [Flannery] this statement represents the conflict between teachers and parents and is why students don’t need to get paid for their grades. Teachers feel “pressure to inflate grades “, due to conflict with both students and parents. As well, research shows a risk factor of rewards that “undermines motivation “[Flannery].
We have reached the midpoint of the semester. Two long months of continuous reading, writing, and annotating; article after article, paper after paper. As much as I dread reading and writing, I am glad to say that I have improved substantially since my first days in your English 5A class. Although there are still some aspects of my writing I have yet to improve on, I have made significant strides on improving my grammar, sentence structure, and the transitions from paragraph to paragraph. Evidence of my improvements are visible on my first two major writing projects this semester; “College Writing For The Incoming Freshman” and “Segregation Is Over, Right?”. Aside from writing, I have also improved on my analytical skills and rhetorical skills.
Because motivation is a very strong will power to support students to complete their goal or stay focus to overcome laziness. Next, students can reward themselves after they done something good or finish their schoolwork. The reward don’t have to be big or good, a little thing like pizza or go play game to relax their brain will help them, and make them feel accomplish. The last thing to do is stay active at all time, after done schoolwork, students can go workout or just go outside and run around for thirty minutes will help them clear their brain and make them
Students should be motivated about learning rather than getting a reward. Instead of actually learning the material, students would rather find an easy way out and maybe
