Did you know that 105 of 128 public schools that offer ninth grade are way below standard? Did you know that, sixty percent of children in fifth grade cannot recognize the difference between a circle or a triangle? Did you know that an ambulance takes forty minutes to arrive after a call? Did you know that in Campinas, 13.28 people are murdered per capita? And that Campinas is the third city in the state with more murderers and the forty ninth nationally speaking? That is why we have to change. We cannot live in fear of going outside like now, we cannot lose our hopes when calling an ambulance. We have to believe in public school’s system. Today I am here to speak for all of you that think the same as I. I am here to represent a city that is tired of all the killing and disrespect. I am here to help you to improve our …show more content…
With education I will reduce these numbers of assaults, because kids will learn what is right and what is wrong, they will have perspective of what doing in future, instead of thinking about the free afternoon they will have. The next thing I will do is to implement jobs and courses at prisons and rehab centers to make those who have mistaken to learn how to be better. They will work at fabrics, the products they produce will be sold, and with this money, I will reinforce the number of police officers in streets and offer courses to prisoners and kids, students on how to make Campinas a safer city for all. The next point is health, Campinas has great hospitals, but the best doctors are only achieve through the best private health insurance, this isn´t right. We should have hospitals, ambulances and doctors of quality through the public health insurance, SUS. This isn´t just a Campinas problem, I know, but I want to solve it for you, the people who I will care
Dally you should not even think about killing yourself it will not solve anything and will only make thing worse for everybody who cares about you. I know that you will not believe this and think that the world is horrible and is not worth living in but I promise you that there is still good in the world. I know that you will say that there is not and that I am naive, but I was not the only one to see this even Johnny saw it as he was dieing. He wanted me to try to point this out to you but I knew that you would need more than just me and Johnny's persuasion so I got word from all of the gang and some idea of how to make things better.
An article from the Los Angeles Times showed that the majority of Californians give California schools “a grade of C or below” and half think that the quality of schools will continue to decline (Watanabe). While the economic downturn affected the public school system in a negative way, it was not the sole root of its problems. It just simply exacerbated existing issues. Because of widespread discontent with the public school system, many different solutions to reform the mainstream public school system have been brought up in public discourse.... ...
There has been many projects done to stop shootings but I believe that there should be more laws and education to stop the violence used and shown as an exalted tool. The reason being, is because in my opinion children especially middle schoolers and under are very influential and should not be exposed to guns and weapons as a toy or game because it will introduce new ideas into their vulnerable minds. In addition, children see and model the behavior of adults therefore; if taught human morals at a young age children will better understand right and wrong and will be more prone to knowing that violence is not a solution more so a
Picture a stunning sandy beach, waves lapping on the shoreline and the sun setting on the horizon creating a breathtaking atmosphere. The never-ending golden sand stretching as far as the eye can see. This is Australia.
The purpose of this article is to convince Americans that the public school system is failing students nationwide and that it needs to be ended. O’Rourke boldly argues that there is no need to mend public schools, only end them. The public school system has been serving America for years, but O’Rourke clearly believes that it is time to put an end to them. O’Rourke argues that it the public school system’s time is up in this statement: “America’s public schools have served their purpose.
It’s fall everyone and Halloween is coming.I would like to tell you that fall is the best season of all.
Throughout our lives, we carry and value our own beliefs. As we face different challenges, we may be persuaded into making certain choices. However, no matter how convincing a person may be, in the end we always have the last word. Nobody likes being told what to do but we do like to hear other opinions for a different perspective. The proper way of using rhetoric is through a confident tone that is knowledgeable of their topic. The speaker should have integrity and be selfless in the sense that they are understanding towards their audience.
Violence is defined as the intentional use of force to harm a human being. Its outcome is injury (whether physical or psychological, fatal or nonfatal). Violence among teenagers is on the rise, and has been since the early 1980's. In my opinion this is due to the increase of violence in the media, the astounding availability of firearms and the lack of proper guidance in the home. Northeastern University's College of Criminal Justice reports that from 1985 to 1993 murders committed by people over the age of 25 dropped an impressive 20%; meanwhile they increased 65% for people between the ages of 18-24 and an astounding 165% growth for teenagers 14 to 17. According to the National Center for Injury Prevention and Control, in 1996, 6548 young people 15-24 years old were victims of homicides. This amounts to an average of 18 youth homicides per day in the US. It also states that homicide is the second leading cause of death for persons 15-24 and is the leading cause of death for African-American and Hispanic youths in this age group. There are a few things that we as Americans can do to stunt this problem, and it starts with the home. By focusing on the home first, we as Americans can drastically reduce the amount of violent crime committed in the US.
Ever since the fall, mankind has had a voracious desire for power and influence. People witness this desire within the walls of the Capitol Building when the media exposes backroom deals. It also springs up whenever a politician uses a podium to persuade people that he makes the world work. Politicians possibly rely on persuasion because they crave the power. However, persuasion is a manipulative, unBiblical tactic of forcing others to accept a point of view by all means necessary.
The life of innocent children and/or even adults are taken everyday due to violent situations that the victims usually have nothing to do with. This is a problem because the insanity only becomes worse. Is violence being taught through media related programs? What should we do about the increase of gun violence? Well, if we make changes, this problem can be limited or even nonexistent.
disgusted that assaults even occur and I wish that they were less common in society, but it does
It is 2am and you wish you had more time for sleeping. You have had a long day between school and work. Probably tired and overwhelm of all the homework that you have to turn in this week. Sometimes you may ask your self the question, “Is it worth the effort I am making to go to college?” I am sure that some of you have had those days were you wish you can stay at home watching TV, playing video games, sleeping, and not worrying about studying for a test. How many of you have felt this way at least once this semester? Turn around, as you can see you are not the only person that feels the same way. However, I will like to tell you the reasons why you should graduate from college. Today, I will talk about the knowledge you get from going
Specific speech purpose: To persuade the class that emotional/mental health is important, and is in fact even more important than their physical health.
Violence in schools has spread widely throughout the nation. This has caused many problems among students, families, faculty of schools, and residents of the area. However, there are many possible ways we can stop all this violence in schools. Almost three-fourths of the United States teens are afraid of violent crime amongst their peers (Apfel 23). Violence in schools has become a big problem in today's society.
One of the biggest influences on the youth in society today are teachers, adults that students are in everyday contact with. Teachers are needed to instruct youth and students to be quality citizens in the community and to teach students values, morals and to educate the youth on how to become better people as well as helping adolescents grow into adulthood. There are many steps one must take in order to become a teacher including fulfilling general and college requirements, truly knowing what it takes to be a high school English teacher, and what each state requirements and job descriptions consist
