Adopting a cat is a great idea for many people. Cats can be lovable, devoted, and fun pets-if you treat them the way that they need to be treated. I will help you with that! When you adopt a cat, you are doing the world a great service, there are many stray cats in the world and many end up in shelters to be euthanized. All of my cats have been rescues, and although they can be difficult in the beginning, they offer you the most emotional rewards. To watch a cat who did not want to be touched in the beginning, turn into a loving lap-cat is absolutely amazing.
Please note that not everyone is made to be a cat owner. Many people choose to have cats because it is easier and less time consuming than having a dog. Generally, this is true, you do not have to walk them, and you can usually just leave food and water out for them. However, you do need to be prepared to spend time with the cats, especially when they are new to your home.

Are you prepared to make a commitment which lasts that long? This is very hard for most people to do, so if you cannot, you have two options, one is to find an older one, so then you know you only have to devote less time to them, or do not adopt at all.
You do need to do some thinking about what kind do I want. This does matter to some people. Personally, I can walk into a shelter and I will simply find one which I love, without thinking about what I am looking for. However, many people may have special considerations of the age of the cat, or if they want one with less hair, etc.
Now, you will need to decide where you are going to get your new kitty. My favorite places to look are local shelters, or Craigslist for local farms. I live in a very rural area, and feral cats tend to have babies near farms. The people who own the farms will take care of the kittens and place an ad to give them away, or they will tack on a very small tag, like $10, to pay for the formula and such that they have
Hannah Shaw is an animal protection professional. She fosters kittens till they are adoptable. (8 weeks). Her website, Kitten Lady says that she works with animal shelters all around the country. The shelters by her call her and she comes to pick the kittens up. She has no charge for them. That doesn't mean she gets them for FREE, because she's not buying them for herself to keep. She also provides educational and instructional videos on her website. She has pictures of the kittens she fosters too. Her Youtube channel Kitten Lady, has her rescue videos, and more instructional videos. She said that she normally does bottle baby orphan kittens. These kittens are as big as her hand. They´re really small!
According to About.com show that very few women who give birth choose to give up their babies - less than 3% of white unmarried women and less than 2% of black unmarried women (Lowen). Adoption is not the answer and it is harder to give the child up once it has been inside you for 9 months and you have seen the baby and have to give up of something that is a part of you. Also babies who go into orphanages don’t always get adopted. Those children are force to live with feeling unwanted, and the chance that they may never be
Many people consider animals as a part of the family. Pets are fun and can be a great addition to many homes. Although, owning an animal can come with many added benefits other than just having a cute and furry friend to play with. People who own pets, may see an increase in their overall quality of life compared to non-pet owners. Pets are a great way to improve the physical, social, and mental health of their owners.
In general, adopting animals is beneficial and meaningful. You are not only saving animal’s lives but also preventing more animals from being bred in an inhumane way. Further, it makes everything easier while having so many advices and support. Please remember that there are still a lot of animals are waiting for you to bring them hope and lighten their life again. So next time when you are thinking of keeping an animal, go to an animal shelter and adopt
Dogs, without a doubt, are better than cats. For thousands of years, this point has been proven, time and time again. We hear about amazing things that dogs do everyday for people across the globe, but the question is, what do you hear about cats? The fact of the matter is, cats are suckered. Cats have been and always will be selfish, arrogant, greedy, and self-centered jerks.
“Adopting one child won 't change the world: but for that child, the world will change.” (Unknown)(Buzzle.com). Adoption can take place in multiple shapes, forms, and fashions. You can adopt from a local adoption agency, or adopt from an orphanage half way around the world. You can adopt a child whose parents are no longer living, or you could adopt from a young mother who is not ready to raise a child. You can adopt one child who has touched your heart from an orphanage in Uganda, or a set of triplets being moved around from house to house in foster care. There are still further motivations and reasons for adopting. What if you and your spouse are unable to become pregnant? The desire to be parents does not diminish with the lack of
When you talk to pet owners about owning a cat versus a dog, it stirs up much controver-sy in many ways. By looking at both cats and dogs, the cat outweighs the dog in many ways, which makes the cat the superior selection when making a final decision on which one to get. Cats have very desirable qualities that make them an award winning choice to many owners. The qualities that appeal to most are the ability of the cat to live in small spaces, they do not eat large amounts of food for their meals, and they are very sedentary and independent in nature making them a low maintenance pet. One additional desired feature is cats are well suited for owners that have a very busy lifestyle and minimal time to give to their pet. This added feature
Felines have soft fur and each cat, individually has a different personality, a great addition to
The benefits of adoption are endless. First, it can promote sharing within a household. Secondly, it provides many benefits for the child being adopted. Finally, it can give the parents the satisfaction of raising a child. Adoption is a great way to enhance a family bond.
I have a love for cats. Ever since I was a teenager I always wished for a cat of my own. When I moved in a three story apartment in California, the Manager of the complex said that cats were allowed in the units. I mentioned to my Aunt at the time that I was searching in the newspapers under advertisements for cats wanted. One cool breezy evening, my Aunt called me and said that a friend of her's named Judy had a cat named Katie who did not get along with her other two cats. So I agreed to meet with Judy to see if I'd love to adopt Katie.
We all are busy people who are out of the house most of the day. We need a companion to help us ease the stress from daily life. For example, if you are purr-catinating on essays or preparing for speeches late at night, you at least have a companion by your side. A great companion is the cat, you get to pet a fluffy thing and get free scratches. Why cats? Well, cats are purr-ty interesting creatures. According to Discovery News, in 1960s, the CIA tried to turn a cat into a spy, but un-fur-tunately, they failed when the cat was ran over by a cab. Another interesting fact according to Buzzfeed is female cats are typically right-pawed while male cats are typically left-pawed. There is also a cat island named Tashirojima that are terrorized by stray cats in Japan. The main problem is there are too many cats in the shelters that need a home, according to ASPCA, approximately 3.4 million cats enter the shelters every year. Well the solution to this is you can adopt a cat. There are a few things you need to do before adopting a cat.
A new cat would be more affordable, and fit in with my apartment house lifestyle. The ability to maintain a cat's responsibilities while attending school, and spending weekends at work, is far less of a job than it would be for a new dog. The decision has proved worthwhile. Flea is doing well, adapting to her new surroundings, and doing her best to avoid the lava life throws her way.
Many people believe that the only way to get a pet is to “buy” one without considering adopting, which is why I believe people should consider looking up better options and become more knowledgeable. There are so many reasons why someone shouldn’t buy a pet from a breeder, and so many benefits from adopting a pet from your local shelter/animal rescue.
Both dogs and cats are good for companionship, because they are both very sweet, loveable. However dogs have a much more need for attention, dogs constantly want to be played with, and sometime aggravate their owner until they get what they want. On the other hand, cats pretty much like to stay to themselves. Some cats may stay away during the day time and only come out at night. Dogs sleep pretty much at night while some cats are up all night.
Feeding the cats at my house is a long and strenuous process. While not a chore, I help out and feed them when I come home from school. I've been feeding these cats for many years and I've developed a process over time. This process will require a skill in herding cats, patience, and taking charge. The first thing to do is to locate the cats.
