Faye Carey Faye Carey is a 16 year old girl that has managed to re-home more than 60 dogs. News Hub says that ¨She wants to have a career in animal control.¨ ¨She has made a Facebook page called Animal Re-Home Waikato.¨ Says News Hub. Her Facebook page has nearly 300 likes and a loyal following of new parents. (Of animals). News Hub also said that ¨With Faye being there, when an animal comes into the shelter or animal control, the animal goes right into a new loving home. ¨
Kitten Lady-Hannah Shaw Hannah Shaw is an animal protection professional. She fosters kittens till they are adoptable. (8 weeks). Her website, Kitten Lady says that she works with animal shelters all around the country. The shelters by her call her and she comes to pick the kittens up. She has no charge for them. That doesn't mean she gets them for FREE, because she's not buying them for herself to keep. She also provides educational and instructional videos on her website. She has pictures of the kittens she fosters too. Her Youtube channel Kitten Lady, has her rescue videos, and more instructional videos. She said that she normally does bottle baby orphan kittens. These kittens are as big as her hand. They´re really small!

Finally there is Faye Carey. She discovered pet abandonment and built up her passion to stand up for it. She volunteers at her local pet shelter that receives 20 pets a week . She now helps rehome dogs from there. She discovered a Facebook page that advertises pets and re-homes them. She has now re-homed about 60 dogs from the shelter. Even though she has to juggle all of the stuff she said, “ It is rewarding as well, so that makes it worthwhile.” She now has discovered Trade Me.com and advertizes pets on that website as well. Throughout my nearly four years of volunteering with Suncoast Animal League, I have felt a wide range of experiences and emotions towards the non-profit. My first day was absolutely terrifying. I arrived at the shelter with the idea that it was the typical shelter shown on television, a considerable sized building with huge kennels and white walls. Instead, before me stood a house, about the size of my own, with a few cars parked outside. Upon entering it became even more apparent that the building was once inhabited by a typical family; the kitchen was off to the side and both the medical room and back quarantine rooms felt like modified bedrooms. Nevertheless, the workers were friendly and I began my training.
It is a sad truth that many animals in the United States are without homes. In fact, four million cats and dogs are put down in animal shelters annually (“Pet Overpopulation”). However, there is one organization trying to change this statistic. The Progressive Animal Welfare Society is focused on giving animals a home, as well as educating the public about animal care.
