A Life Without Bullying There is a glorious quote that says: “Treat others the way you want to be treated”. No one would certainly like to be forced around and hear unfamiliar and strange nicknames for themselves in front of their schoolmates because schools are supposed to be places where students feel safe and secured not in danger and fear. Bullying is defined as “intimidating or harassing” another person in order to encroach on him, have some fun, and finally tend to violate him (Lee par.1). So the best way to solve their troubles is using the most expert psychologists that will focus on solving their personal issues. Therefore if officials want to stop bullying, they must focus mainly on student’s feelings because they are the core of it. In addition to that, Gwen Dewar said that all bullies usually suffer from certain “unpleasant problems” either in their home or from other bullies, however, schools should concentrate on the feelings of these students and cure them with all possible” therapies”( Dewar par.5). For example, these bullies must not be punished, but instead officials must give them private lessons Shatila 6 on how to return to their normal life and explain for them that these actions may lead them to many disastrous troubles. Young children everywhere have been affected negatively by different forms of bullying. It’s not just the person who is the one getting bullied who is being affected badly it is the bully as well. That is the purpose of why the best way to battle this fight is to continue on pursuing dreams and goals without letting others negativity affect future plans. There have been studies on why people have the urge to hurt others emotional. Also, more than a few articles on bullies are about their mental health and how it plays a major role in it. Even family background could have easily triggered the person to become a bully. As Espelage Dorothy, wrote, “ We also found that students’ perspective-taking was negatively associated with non-physical bully perpetration, while positive attitude towards bullying was positively associated with non-physical bully perpetration. Conclusion: The findings suggest empathy and understanding of how youth see things from others’ point-of-view may be an important factor in bullying” (Dorothy). According to Dorothy, there are studies on viewing major topics from a student’s point of view to understand the issues and learn to fix the problem. The students had empathy for those being bullied. In the study, students understood clearly that bullying is more of a physiological action than physical. There are bullies out there that are having trouble at home and these troubles are what make them angry enough to take it out on their classmates at school. And for this reason other students have empathy for bullies; they know there's a reason to why they have become a bully. Therefore, the best solution as Jessie J had written, “You talk that, Blah blah that la la, that rah rah sh, And I'm so done, I'm so over it” (Jessie J). Jessie J. means that people can say what they want to say she doesn't care anymore and neither should her views. No one can control anyone other than themselves you can only control

It is a fact that youngsters learn much not only academically but also a lot through the interaction with their peers. Nevertheless, some experiences such as bullying may possibly lead to some serious long-term negative effects. Unfortunately, the society perceives bullying as an unavoidable factor in schooling as well as a natural procedure of growing up. Bullying has now become an inevitable part of school life. The rapid growth of Internet technology has allowed bullying to expand and thus, created a much bigger and worse problem in the modern society. Bullying has been a problem in our society for decades. Although the problem seems almost inevitable, a solution to prevent further victims is urgently needed. In school you probably remember the “odd-balls” being picked on by the “cool kids”. Maybe they were being called offensive names or were being laughed at because of something they liked, if they looked or acted a certain way. Or possibly it was because of their religion. The truth of the matter is, people will use just about any reason to bully and use different methods when bullying. Questions that rise is what kind of bullying is there? How does it affect the person being targeted? How can we take a stand to stop bullying and ultimately, how can we help those who are being bullied? This essay will consider and answer these questions.
There are not very many individuals today who are unconscious of the viciousness in schools. As school
As a society, we often underestimate the damages that bullying cause on children, not just America but all over, and the ones who suffer are the victims themselves. Victims are damaged with the stigma that they are weak, yet somehow have to fend for themselves against something that they have little to no control over. Whether it is for funding, a reputation or any other reason schools sweep their bullying problem under the rug or turn a blind eye, however they have more potential to end this growing issue. To the schools that think bullying is not their problem, they should know that according to heyugly.org, an anti-bullying campaign, “Approximately, 160,000 children a day stay home from school in fear of being bullied.”They also point out
Thesis: Bullying is a serious problem in our society today. The victims of bullying are not the problem, the bullies are.
The topic of bullies is one that has concerned parents and schools for almost as long as schools have been around, but the real question is who should dispense with this serious dilemma of our children getting harassed the school or the parents? It is time for schools to step up to the bat and dispense of this serious problem of our children getting tormented in and out of class by other pupil. It is time for schools to step up to the bat and dispense of this serious problem of our children getting tormented in and out of class by other pupil. Learning institutes should be cutting the problem of bullying down from the roots instead of deserting it and letting this mess appear into the bullied child’s personal live at home. Not letting the problem develop will prevent many mishaps from occurring in the future.
Why do people bully? Some people bully because they are afraid. When people are afraid of something or someone, they decide to bully. People choose to bully, because they think it make them cool. They think if they bully people, others would want to be like them. They believe it would help them fit in with the people around. They think it would help them be like someone who everyone else look up too. They want their friends to see how bad they are or how bad they try to be. Bullies are not as bad as most people think they are. Some people bully only on small people. You don’t see to many bullies bullying on each other. Even bullies are afraid of each other. The bully think since they are bigger than another person, they have more power. Some people even bully others because they may be getting bullied somewhere else. They may come to school and bully someone else to get their mind off of what some else are doing to them.
There’s been a major revolution in the 21st century to eliminate bullying, yet it’s almost picked up in new ways. Bullying is usually physical beating another person up, constantly threatening someone, or just making fun of people through name calling. Name calling is a way to rename our loved ones. Constantly friends are calling one another hoes, sluts, and assholes. In these situations, they’re meant as nothing but words. No harm is to come from them. Sometimes when you get a unique enough name, it sticks with you for a bit of time. Majority of people seem to have at least one nickname based on who their personality and choices. By Kindergarten, kids usually have picked up their first nickname. This usually relates around them having to pee
A category of strategies to prevent bullying in schools is identifying the causes of bullying. One factor that may cause bullying is the students’s family life. Another factor that may cause bullying is peer pressure. Friends who are aggressive and hav...
Bullying against teens is still happening even though there are various awareness programs to try to prevent it. I want to create awareness of bullying against teens of all religions, race, and sexual orientation. Even with the various attention to bullying, the problem still persists despite the school providing awareness, students are still afraid to say anything. Societal patterns today make bullying a difficult issue to eliminate. Starting in 2007, a total of 35 states made laws to go against bullying at school. These laws consisted of a clear definition of bullying, and how schools will be required to enforce uniform standards of conduct. The reason bullying comes as such an issue to me is because I actually know friends that have been suicidal and have caused themselves harm due to being bullied every day, in school and at home.
Bullying is something that is not something new and is actually something that society continues to face. Over the years, bullying has been looked at as being so ordinary in schools that it is continuously overlooked as an emanate threat to students and has been lowered to a belief that bullying is a part of the developmental stage that most young children will experience then overcome (Allebeck, 2005, p. 129). Not everyone gets over the extreme hurt that can come as an effect from bullying, for both the bully and the victim. Because of this, we now see bullying affecting places such as the workplace, social events and even the home. The issue of bullying is not only experienced in schools, but the school environment is one of the best places
Problems usually have solutions. Solutions could be extremely easy to find, or the process of finding one could be problematic. One worldly issue that does not have a solution yet is bullying. Bullying is present in schools world-wide, and it has been this way since there have been schools. This horrible act is accepted as part of life. People are used to bullying, that it almost seems normal. This should not be the case. Bullying is a horrific act that needs to be stopped, but is that possible? Three specific ways people have proposed to stop bullying is to criminalize bully in an attempt to deter any further bullying, to assign bullies student mentors in order to have someone guide them, or to force school or parental figures to be more active in trying to prevent bullying. Each of these methods has its advantages and disadvantages, but which is the best method to effectively stop bullying?
