Journey to Becoming a Hotel Industry Leader

I am Sarvesh Mehrotra, born in India and brought up in Nigeria. I am currently studying Diploma in Hotel and Tourism Management at International Management Institute (IMI), Switzerland.
From childhood working with people brought me great pleasure, which motivated me to contest in school elections and participate in team sports. I was elected as a member of sports committee for 2 years in high school and secondary school (Class 9 and Class 11), member of RAW (Review and Analysis Wing) in secondary school (Class 12), a committee that monitors the functioning of the student government and presently a member of Student Representative Committee at IMI University.
I chose hospitality industry because I wanted to embrace new cultures and the human attraction within the industry was a real attraction to me as well. I would like to take my first internship in JW Marriott- Dubai not only because the hotel has got a high customer satisfaction but also Dubai is one of the top tourist destinations.
My dream job is to be a General Manager of a reputed hotel and own a luxury hotel.

There is always a room for improvement. We might fail or receive negative comments and feedbacks but that does not stop us from improving and getting better. Confidence is one of the qualities, which people are either born with it or have to work for it and I am someone who is currently working on. Lack of self-confidence drives me to ask my friends in to guide me whenever I begin to do something. I believe that self-confidence cannot be taught or explained to someone, it is to be reached by an individual when he/she decides to believe in oneself.
