Remembering An Event July 17,2015, 4:20 a.m., my first-born baby girl arrived. At that moment, I realized I am no longer just a sister, a cousin, niece or a daughter. I am a first-time mom. For the first time, I held a new born baby. I got my first chance of changing, bathing and feeding a new born. The feeling was unpredictable. Just in two days we were finally home. I was to doing the same thing, except with a lot more moving around, up and down the steps constantly. I soon to realize that there were way more responsibilities for me as a high school student, tagging along as being a mother to my newborn. I got my first job to financially support my daughter and myself. We have had numerous of joyful and goofy moments since this time last
I am an undocumented student at UC Davis. When I am asked a simple question such as, "describe your personal experiences", I ask myself: Where do I begin?
SWISH! I turn my head to the right with a grin and see my mom cheering as I scored my first points of the season. The last game of the season I scored my first points of my middle school basketball “career.” Now sit back and relax as you read the story of how I got my first points in middle school basketball.
It was August 25, 2006 and I just received the news that I was going to have a baby. At that moment so many thoughts ran through my mind. I was extremely nervous and terr...
Some people like to stay in control of their life and avoid any amount of extraordinary risk to protect their self-disclosure. Other people don’t shy away from challenges as they are confident that certain obstacles are nothing more than just another thing standing in their way from living life to the fullest extent. Through personal experience, I’ve realized that personal comfort is nothing more than a variety of fears that limit me from challenging myself.
went to sit down on the sofa. A few minuets later my food was ready
As I walk into Hazen and begin my high school journey I think to myself what I want to accomplish when I leave. Hazen is like the older sister I never had, someone who you hate occasionally, but look up to and pushes you to achieve your personal goals. As I walk through those Highlander doors I was immediately surrounded by the brightest minds, talent, and innovative bunch of my generation. Each one unique and each one having something special to offer, and I soon realized that I want to leave high school like I was never leaving. By making the most out of my high school experience I want to gain maturity and the satisfaction of knowing I made a difference in my school and community. By becoming a member of the National
Today i will be writing a personal narrative about an incident that changed my life. I will be talking about the time I flew over 3,000 miles to Alaska. Around the beginning of last summer my grandparents told me I was going to be going to Alaska on a cruise. In early June of last year was probably one of scariest moments of my life! I flew on a plane for the first time. The day of the flight was pretty scary; between being in an airport and going through security to actually flying on a plane! Once we got in the air I was able to relax and actually enjoy the flight. Being in the clouds and being able to look out over the earth was amazing. i'm glad i could have the experience of being on a plane with my family. We flew into Seattle which was fun because we went shopping and went to a really nice restaurant and then boarded a cruise ship that would take us through Alaska.
Melanie woke up with nothing other than research on her mind. She knew that her last name was Easton and so was her mother's. What she didn't know was if that was her mother’s married name, or for that matter, if her mother had ever been married.
As a child, my family and I planned annual trips to the state of Jalisco in Mexico to visit our family members. Each year we took a different method of getting to our destination. Some years we would enjoy a two day road trip, while other times we would enjoy the view from a three hour flight. In 2006, we decided we would drive because we wanted to load up our truck with gifts for the family. This particular year I was more excited than usual because we were going to be traveling in the fall for the first time.
One sunny afternoon my friends and I decided to go on a road trip to a small resort. We packed everything up and decided on the way across the Wisconsin Bridge that we all wanted to go to the Wisconsin Dells. This car ride was about to be long because not everyone in the car gets along.
My senior year in high school, I started dating my boyfriend Dontavious. During my senior year I had part time job at McDonald’s. One night my manager ask me to step outside because a customer wanted to talk to me personally. She introduced herself to as Sarah and asked me questions about my family. Towards the end of the conversation she informed me that my grandfather is father, which meant she was my aunt. I went home to tell my mother about what was said. My mother explained that Sarah was telling the truth, but my family did not speak about the situation. Graduation time was slowly approach and Dontavious suggested that our families should all come together and meet one another. Dontavious’s Aunt Sabrina had a baby shower. I enter the
It was one of the cooler, misty mornings when I delivered a beautiful newborn on October 13, 2014 at 9:54 in the morning. This newborn baby was a precious baby girl, and I decided to name her Kassidy. When I first delivered Kassidy, I was excited, yet nervous that this newborn would be all of my responsibility. Also, I assumed that it cannot be very difficult to fulfill a baby’s needs and care for it. Therefore, I was excited for Kassidy to be my responsibility, and for me to be her mother!
It was the storytelling part of law that fascinated Sarah. The challenge of finding a way of turning the ‘accused’ into a person, someone real and vulnerable; someone that the judge and jury – if there was a jury - would warm to and empathise with. There was a way of presenting the evidence, the arguments that gave the court a sense of the person beyond the crime, before the crime; storytelling was what made the difference between a good barrister and a mediocre one. The prosecution would produce victim statements from the dead girl’s parents and her sister, the grandparents, the aunts and uncles and friends. These would be sad accounts. Narratives that would fill the courtroom with grief and with anger, that would make no sentence seem long
It all started in Hawaii, my family had just been stationed there for a duty station as my father was in the military. I was absolutely ecstatic about living on an island where most people only vacationed. It was a huge change from living in Texas where it was dry and humid to tropical paradise, it was so amazing and the food was so multi-cultural that you could try anything. The waterfalls and hikes were my favorite part and the beaches. North Shore was the beach you surfed on the most, and it was just breathe taking as the water is so clear and blue that you can see the sand on the shore line. Hawaii was just so awesome and then I started working at a video game store called Game Stop which I loved since I am an avid gamer and could share my excitement with other gamers.
My eyes opened slowly to pure whiteness as I lay on the hard cemented ground. He was coming towards me. Slowly, steadily, surely. I could barely move. I was able to muster the strength to raise my hand in which blood was slowly flowing down. Is this how I die? Is this really the end? My powers had led to my demise, indefinitely. Perhaps there are things in this world that cannot be tamed. Perhaps everyone was put on this Earth with a purpose. Perhaps some were made to win and some to lose to ensure balance.
