Today i will be writing a personal narrative about an incident that changed my life. I will be talking about the time I flew over 3,000 miles to Alaska. Around the beginning of last summer my grandparents told me I was going to be going to Alaska on a cruise. In early June of last year was probably one of scariest moments of my life! I flew on a plane for the first time. The day of the flight was pretty scary; between being in an airport and going through security to actually flying on a plane! Once we got in the air I was able to relax and actually enjoy the flight. Being in the clouds and being able to look out over the earth was amazing. i'm glad i could have the experience of being on a plane with my family. We flew into Seattle which was fun because we went shopping and went to a really nice restaurant and then boarded a cruise ship that would take us through Alaska. …show more content…
One of the first things we did was watch the northern lights which was really fun to watch just all the lights and stuff were really cool and another thing was whale watching. We watched Killer whales, beluga whales, and orcas till sunset. Watching the sunset was one of the best part because of just the colors they all faded into each other and it was really pretty
We did lots of things on this trip. One of the things we did on this trip was go panning for gold in alaska but we didn't find any elks but it was a really fun experience that I got to have. Another thing we got to do was go hunting for elk in the mountains, that was really fun even though we didn't get anything but i'm glad that I got to spend time with my grandpa in the mountains. The mountains were really cool because we were so high up and the view over a small town called
My family and I were all headed down to a Mt Shasta campsite. We always went there in the summer with a close family friend.
In 2000, the gift we gave Uncle Ted for his high school graduation present was a trip to Alaska. None of us had been there, so it seemed like the perfect way to celebrate. We flew into Fairbanks and traveled a bit north of that city but mostly south to Seward and Homer, both at the end of peninsulas. The scenery and wildlife everywhere were breathtaking! We toured museums and national parks, visited gardens and local craftsmen, and listened to informative high school students who served as guides on the train between Fairbanks and Anchorage.
Every single summer, the last two weeks of August; my family and I would go camping at Killbear Provincial Park. First time I went, I was 10 month old. I couldn’t talk yet and was just learning to crawl, but that didn’t stop my family from ending the tradition. I pretty much grew up there, all my favorite nature experiences are from camping there.
Once we got back to the Gulf of Mexico on the second day, my family got to swim with the dolphins! It was amazing! Before we got in
Growing up as an only child I made out pretty well. You almost can’t help but be spoiled by your parents in some way. And I must admit that I enjoyed it; my own room, T.V., computer, stereo, all the material possessions that I had. But there was one event in my life that would change the way that I looked at these things and realized that you can’t take these things for granted and that’s not what life is about.
A calm crisp breeze circled my body as I sat emerged in my thoughts, hopes, and memories. The rough bark on which I sat reminded me of the rough road many people have traveled, only to end with something no one in human form can contemplate.
The last day of our trip we went to a cool go kart place. They had go karts, slide karts, bungee jumps, and even laser tag. We did all of them. It was a ton of fun, riding the go carts, running into each other. Then we had to pick blueberries they were sweet but time consuming. We picked for three hours in the hot sun. We did get thirty pounds though.
Going out west last summer was one of the most exciting and interesting things I have ever done in my life. When my mom first told me about the trip I was only really excited about going on the airplane. But when we got there, I was in for a big surprise.
She also had chickens that one day just came up to lay eggs and she has and old stove that the chickens lay their eggs on. Furthermore she also had a four wheeler that we rode around on she also had a banana tree that had really small bananas on it. Also we went to volcanoes national park where we saw a lava tube steam vent and a lava lake that you could walk on and it got rained on and started steaming, which was really cool we also had a picnic on the side of the volcano. Also we learned how to surf which was super fun. The first time I did it our instructor told me to go and then i was off I even got to stand up on all of them and ride quite a few to shore. Also we rented a paddle board to use you had to have really good balance to not fall off because the waves and that you have to paddle while standing up while doing it on that I fell off a few times.Nevertheless then at the very end when I when I was coming into shore, I rode a wave all the way in.Also I shelled macadamia nuts you half to crack an almost rock hard nut shell and then you would get a tiny little nutshell, that we would then roast in a camp fire after It was roasted it tasted super
Everyone has a story, a pivotal moment in their life that started to mold them into the person they are today and may even continue to mold you to the person that you will become, I just had mine a little bit earlier than others. When I was three years old my brother became a burn survivor. It may seem too early for me to remember, but I could never forget that day. Since then, I have grown, matured and realized that what my family and I went through has been something of a benefit to be and an experience that has helped me in deciding what I want to do with the rest of my life.
We went up to the mountains with my youth group and stayed at a house near Boone, NC. The first thing I remember about this trip was how almost all of the houses in the mountains were hidden from sight. When driving down the road, they were so hidden by trees, they could barely be seen. Many of my friends went on this trip as well. We frequently went fishing in a nearby pond after dinner. I tried two new things while I was there. The first thing that we tried new was skiing at Sugar Mountain. Skiing was hard at first but then I got the hang of it. I never left the beginner hill because the rest of the hills made me nervous to go down. As the ski day went on, the once soft white manmade snow started to turn into ice. At that point I stopped skiing because it simply became too dangerous for me. The second new thing that I tried was kayaking. Kayaking was definitely the most fun thing I did while I was there. I simply say this because I truly enjoyed it. Riding down a river in a kayak can be so peaceful. While riding down a nearby river I really began to see how beautiful it was in the mountains. I loved hearing the sound of the moving water on either side of me. Catching the right currents at the right time really made kayaking fun for me. Being able to kayak with my friends and family only made the new experience even more
We finally arrived in California, after around two weeks of driving. We told all my relatives and it was fun to describe how many miles we had hiked and see the surprised look on their faces. We had contests to see how many states the other people had been to, and joked about the arguments we had. My brother and I spent most of our time in my grandma's pool and playing badminton in the back yard. I realized talking about the trip was nearly as enjoyable as actually taking it.
Everything went into the R.V. as orderly as possible, once everyone got situated, my dad said that it was time to tell us where we were headed, Idaho, Montana, Wyoming, South Dakota, Minnesota, Iowa, Missouri, Oklahoma, Texas, New Mexico, Arizona, and Oregon. All of us were so excited we could not even sit still for three seconds. This would be our first trip super far out of our state, we have not ever went that far around the states until now. I was the most excited to go to New Mexico, because there cultures were so amazing and different I couldn't wait.
It all started when I got out of school early to go on vacation with my family. It was a Wednesday afternoon, about two o'clock when I got pulled out of school early. It seem’d like I waited days to get out of school to go on vacation. Then, our family headed to the hotel we would stay there for the night. In the morning, we got on the bus and headed to the airport. My stomach was yelling,” Feed me food or you're going to die!” Our family got food for our yelling stomachs. I had a cheesy, egg, and sausage biscuit sandwich. While we waited we walked on the people mover slidewalk as if it was a treadmill and watched more than one-hundred airplanes land and lift off. Finally, our plane was ready to be boarded and we lifted off to Florida. I sat by the window on the wing of the plane with my family. I had some peanuts and sprite while we waited the long four hour long flight.
The day actually started out very pleasant, my family drove to Lucky Peak to spend the day out on the water with my cousins and grandparents. After launching the boat into the water, we drove around exploring the lake for a while and then found the perfect spot to dock for a few hours. There under a covered picnic
