My writing goal I am Kazuki Nakanishi and I have two goals in this level. my first writing goal in this level is using an adjective and an adverb as much as I can in my writing paper. I learned how to write the nice essay from level 5, so I would like to focus on of constructing a sentence. I feel that I tend to use easy noun and verb in everyday conversation compared with the native speaker, and I need to add more information to explain something clearly using adjective and adverb. It is obvious that writing skill directly connects to speaking skill, so this goal can be my biggest goal in level 10. The second goal is time management. My relationship with writing has been much like roller coaster.Some experiences I had no control over. Other experiences were more influential. Ultimately it wasn’t until I started reading not because I had to read but because I wanted to, that's when my relationship reached change. I would have probably never cared about writing as I do today if it weren't for the critics in my family. When I was a child, my aunts and uncles always been in competition with who's child is better in school. I have always hated reading and writing because of the pressure to prove my family wrong was overwhelming for me. I had to prove them wrong and show them that I was capable of being "smart" which according to them was getting straight A's in all your classes.
The two most important things this goal focuses on is time management and the use of sources. By managing their time efficiently, writers are able to thoroughly comb through the information they want to add and then create a detailed outline. By setting the appropriate amount of time aside to go through sources, the writer can synthesis the most accurate, best sources and evaluate the author 's position and bias. This learning goal helped me individualize my drafting time because I was not being tugged along by a detailed class schedule. As a second language learner I have never expected myself to be a perfect writer throughout the semester. Even If English was my first language still, I would not be a perfect writer. As a writer there are many elements of writing that I struggle with, especially when composing an essay. When writing an essay, there are usually many skills that need to be used in order to be successful with the writing assignment. Many times in writing I struggle with explaining and fully developing the supporting details and ideas in my essay. I would also like to improve on incorporating clear topic sentences and concluding sentences, connecting my paragraphs ideas back to my thesis. Lastly, improvement can be made in my writing by avoiding awkward or wordy sentences. Writers face numerous challenges in their writing but strive to overcome or improve these challenges with each piece they write.
It's hard for me to say where I'll be in the years to come, already my life has strayed from the path I once thought it would follow. However, that doesn't change my motivation or determination to reach and excel at my personal goals.
