Reflection Essay My English 1010 experience was very educational and I learned a lot while taking this class. Taking this full year class will teach you a lot not only about grammar and vocabulary, but much more. I believe that writing courses are definitely worth the time and effort to put in and learn because it goes a long way with how confusing our English is. I see myself using this class in my daily life. Some of the biggest strengths I've learned these past semesters are being able to write essays at a college level. We have written lots of essays and I have made lots of mistakes and learned from those mistakes. Things like not putting my essay in the correct MLA format, or not doing the correct rubric. My weakness when it comes to writing essays is that I don't always follow the exact rubric. When I start typing it is hard to stop because I'm coming up with what I'm saying on the spot. Doing this has not helped me because I am off script and the essay I would be writing about wouldnt have all of the requirements. But since the beginning of this class, I have gotten much better at not doing this. I believe if I stop and then go back to the rubric and reread the instructions, then go back and keep writing. Writing continuously usually ruins the essay for me, and it isn't as good as taking a break and making sure I am still writing about what I need to. This strategy of writing has helped me personally. I have done it in the past couple of essays and have seen lots of improvements since when I first started writing essays at the beginning of this class. My writing process is a lot cleaner and more organized than what it used to be. I still have to work on this, but I have definitely improved since the beginning of this class. I believe revising the rubric and taking your time with your essays are key components to writing
