Recommended: What you have learned in English 110 so far

I have learned a lot so far in English 1101, about myself and about writing. I have discovered that it is sometimes difficult for me to find topics to write about, but once I get an idea it is very easy for me to start writing. English has always been one of the subjects that I tend to struggle with, but this class has helped me realize that I actually enjoy writing. I have never really been able to write a lot about topics of my choice in the past. I am more accustomed to writing papers related to one specific topic. This class gives you a prompt to write about, but you are generally able to expand on that and choose your own topic as long as it relates to the prompt.
I think that my best work so far this semester would have to be the Educational History Narrative. It was such an easy essay for me to write because it was a story about myself and about someone who I really care about. That assignment would also have to be my favorite essay that I have written so far. …show more content…

I know how to complete a works cited page, but I often find myself looking at examples because I have not yet memorized how to set them up. For the remainder of the semester, I plan to keep turning my work in on time and sometimes even early. I am proud to say that I have turned all of my work in early so far this semester. I want to earn the best grades possible on my essays, and for me to accomplish that goal I will continue to edit and revise all of my papers until the end of the semester. I also hope to improve my writing skills and become better at brainstorming

    Over the course of this semester I learned a lot about myself as a writer. This English 101 class has really allowed me to expand my essay structure and ways of thinking. This was my first college writing course and it has given me much more freedom when writing because in high school I felt limited and like what we were writing was not very important.
