Have you ever wanted to meet yourself from three years ago to see how you were like? I remember exactly how I was like three years ago, and I know I’ve changed a lot. I became more mature because I get into less trouble, have better grades and have a job. I changed because I realized what was important. I changed because I didn't want to be childish anymore. I changed because I wanted to be successful. I changed to better myself and my future. In freshman year, I was a pretty reckless teenager. I used to get suspended a lot, had detention almost every week and I even got into trouble outside of school. I had to go to court a couple of times. Now, I don’t get into trouble as much as I used to. I have less suspensions and don’t get referred out of class as much. I also haven’t got into trouble out of school since freshman. It takes a lot for a person to stop being childish and focus on what’s important. I have realized that my behavior 3 years ago was and is unacceptable. I grew up and started to focus on what’s important. Only a mature person can change their behavior like that. …show more content…
Three years ago, my grades weren’t so good. I didn’t really care if i had a D as long as I was passing. At the end of freshman year, I ended up going to summer school; It was the worst 2 weeks of my life. After I finished those weeks, I promised myself I was never going to go to summer school. As of now, my grades look way better. I don’t have straight A’s, but they sure are better than the ones I had 3 years ago. Getting your grades up is a very hard thing to do. You have to be dedicated and stay focused. I worked so much harder this year than I did 3 years ago. I think this shows that I’m mature because I had to grow up in order to stay focused in
The story about I Martranika Gross, called changing my life. It all begin with many ideals that I had in mind to become while changing my life so my daughter will fix in. First was continue my education at Strayer University and a journey to follow. Next, becoming a role model with a pathway lay out for my daughter, a showing her not to stay you can’t to become successful. Finally, overcome obstacles first you have to have faith within yourself, and the key word is knowledge.
After reviewing my life, I have decided my life defining moment was when my family and I moved to Texas from Oklahoma. I consider this move my life changing moment because it changed so many things in my life. This move set the stage for an entirely new life for me. Moving six hours away from the only home I knew certainly called for many changes.
At one point I came to the conclusion that I’m either going to fail, go to summer school, or go to a school that I didn't want to attend. I felt so disappointed in myself because I knew that I could've done better. So then one day I told myself, “I can do this”. I then started to study more than I usually did, I turned in all of my missing work and my present work, and I also took an after school tutoring class
Looking back through my middle school and high school years, I see that I have matured a great amount. I see my current self as someone that treats others with respect, and who does not blurt out anything that comes to mind. I sadly cannot say that was always the case. Throughout high school, everyone changes at least a minimal amount, and sometimes you don’t even notice the changes. Maturity is something that happens naturally for most, and can happen in the matter of a summer break.
During my years in high school, I have learned many valuable lessons. I’m proud of the person I am becoming. Life has not been easy, but thankfully I’m a strong hard worker. I started high school with a high GPA, and never intended for it to drop throughout my years. Within the last three years, I’ve moved around, participated in sports, and got a job.
I concluded my 8th grade year with 9 a's and 5 b's, contrarily my 9th grade report card included 5 f's and 3 d's. "Your mistakes do not define who you are, you are your possibilities." - Oprah Winfrey. This quote reflects my high school journey because though I've made innumerable mistakes throughout high school thus far, and continue to make mistakes by not prioritizing my education, I refuse to give up and I will not let my mistakes make me.
First off, the college life has changed me for the better. I am much more responsible in many different ways. I had to change my study habits, or should I say I have to get study habits. I high school I never studied, because everything came so easy to me and I could just do the work and end up with passing grades. When I reached college I tried to do the same thing and it didn’t work. I had to start studying on a daily basis and it was hard to go from not doing any work to studying every night and on the weekends, I wasn’t use to that, but I had to make it a habit or I was not going to make it. Going to school everyday was not a problem because my parents made me go everyday, my major change was my study habits.
During my freshman and sophomore year my grades were not great and there is no excuse for that. During the second month of my freshman year, I was blessed with a beautiful daughter. I spent most of my time taking care of my daughter and working as much as possible to support her, because of it my grades suffered. Although it was tough being stretched so thin when it came to time, I wouldn’t change a thing. Those first two years of college really showed me how to overcome adversity and also how to multitask.
Other things in my life changed as well. I started to care about school, and developed a love for learning. My grades reflected this, and soon I began to like school again. I became cheerful and jubilant in my own ways. I was still under the clutches of my computer addiction, but things were looking up. I made some new friends in my class, and was generally a nicer person. I started listening to the same songs I always have, but at the same time branched out to different genres. I became a better person both in and out of my
One thing that really bothers me is how much I changed. I used to play games all day, not focus on school, wouldn't get in serious trouble, and was very innocent compared to my present day self. There are cons and pros of my past self compared to how I am currently. I am more happy of how I am now then I am before. As time changes, so do I and I can not stop that. What’s done has already been done and can’t be changed so you always have to look towards the future and never the past. The past will not definite who you are today unless you let it. I would have never expect that I would be transferred to a continuation high school in my freshman year. It is a bad thing to many people, but I am thankful that I am sent to it because I will learn
I knew it then - I had to grow up, be responsible. It was never going to just be me again.
I was not the most studious throughout high school. If I would have realized the person and student, I should have been earlier in high school, I could have saved myself the regret. I overcame the student that I was and now I am the student that I knew I could be. My grades are beneficial at this point and I want to continue to pursue the grades that I have, studying a communication's
This year, all my low grade will be high grades. I'm going to work hard on them and make myself proud.
There have been tons of things that I have learned and been taught in my life, by a number of people such as family, teachers, or even friends on occasion. The things they taught me vary from math and other related subjects to just some truly simple yet meaningful life lessons. However, there is nothing quite as unique, quite as special as a person teaching themselves a life lesson. It really is an amazing accomplishment for a person to teach themselves something. It is not quite as simple as another person teaching them something because it is not just the transferring of information from one person to another. The person instead has to start from scratch and process the information they have in their mind in order to come up with a new thought
I’m here to tell you that time is something that is very forgiving when it comes to starting over or fixing something that you feel needs adjusting. Of course, there are some things in the past that just can’t be changed. However, these situations only serve to provide fuel for your future decisions and choices. For example, when I was a little girl I dreamed of owning a Barbie Jeep. Now you may have guessed that on this particular day in time I’m just a tad bit too old for something of the sorts.
