The best part about Supertracker is that it gives me wonderful tools to support me in understanding and meeting my goals. Once I created a profile through Supertracker I was provided a personal plan to follow including the amount of grains, vegetables, fruits, and protein I needed to be successful. Ever since I have gone through physical therapy and gotten back on my feet, I have had the desire to pursue a career in the field of health and fitness and my goal is to become a personal fitness trainer so I may help others reach their fitness goals and teach ways to be active safely and help prevent major injuries. As I sat in the boiling hot sun, the heat that had overwhelmed me throughout the day surpassed. I was engulfed by Lu Paul, a native Hawaiian advocate who was telling me the story of how Native Hawaiians loss their rights. “How did my people become a minority in their own land?” he asked me inquisitively. I found myself making many connections with this man’s story and my own. As he answered my questions about inequality in his community, he began to speak of many things that I had witnessed in my life, that I thought only my own culture experienced. “My people need to fight for equal education, language rights, and employment”, he stated firmly. It was in this moment I began to broaden my perspective of inequality and minority rights. This along with the many other field experiences I had during my semester abroad, help shape my desire to attend law school and work both nationally and abroad in civil and human rights.
Some people like to stay in control of their life and avoid any amount of extraordinary risk to protect their self-disclosure. Other people don’t shy away from challenges as they are confident that certain obstacles are nothing more than just another thing standing in their way from living life to the fullest extent. We only have one body so we have to take as much care of it as possible. It has always been my interest to help people work out and give advice especially my friends, but this is much bigger, it’s helping the world. I find this career interesting because not only do nutritionists get the chance to travel, work in various places or get the opportunity to meet different people but they put their heart in their job.

This changed his life. He started to eat low fat foods thats packed in vitamins, quit smoking and drinking and started to exercise regular bases. One year later, he could get out of bed, live as an full energetic person as he had before. This made him inspired to study nutrition in America. I was overwhelmed after I knew his history and never looked at food the same way again. It is clear to me now that how people eat and what people eat is an important factor in acheving optimum health, that just exercise isn't enough.
...arable interaction between nutrition and exercise, and I appreciate a program that challenges students to see how different areas of health intersect and connect. In addition to this solid foundation of public health knowledge, George Washington’s one-on-one mentorship opportunities and customizable field and research experiences allows students to develop the skills necessary to succeed in their specific area of interest. The university’s location also provides access to a wide range of organizations, agencies, and policymakers, and the chance to work with these groups would give me unparalleled insight into public health policy. George Washington’s public health program strives to fully prepare students for successful careers in public health, and I hope to use the knowledge and experience from the program to reduce the impact of eating disorders on public health.
