Have you ever done something that was known to be impossible? To do something impossible would have to take courage and patience. Therefore I do not believe in this quote just gonna state that right off the bat, I believe in the verse Matthew 19:26 that states “With man this is impossible, but with God all things are possible.” Alexander III of Macedon or commonly known as Alexander the Great, might have been a Prince then a King but he was born into the throne because his father was a King. Matthew 19:26 is the perfect verse no matter what you are trying to accomplish, because it gives you comfort and hope knowing that you can do anything with God.
What would something you want to do be considered impossible? Something I would consider

Some things that I have done in the past made me think a lot of things were impossible because it was so scary but really right I accomplished it, it was so fun and I wish I could do it again. For example, I went to the Dominican Republic about two summers ago. We were touring around the town and we went to this cliff jumping thing and it totally was not what i expected it was. Instead of a normal cliff you would think of would be a cliff that was on the inside of mountains and hills it was like concave, it was honestly the coolest looking thing I have ever seen. The was about 15 people and we were able to jump off of it from a zipline into the water but we had to land in this medium sized triangle or we would hit rocks and die. So when I was going up to the zipline the girl chickened out and didn’t want to go so I went and it was beyond fun, I wish I was able to do it again. The feeling you get on the zipline and when you falling 100 feet from the air. That shows you that nothing is impossible, don’t be afraid and have some courage you will be able to accomplish a lot more than you
There are many inspiring quotes in, "I Beat the Odds" by Michael Oher, but one especially stood out to me. In the beginning of the book, Michael discuss his life in Hurt Village and describes how hard his life was he says, "The odds are stacked against you, but you can't let that be an excuse, you have too much to promise to let the odds beat you. It can be done. I beat the odds"(13). This quote made it really clear to me that I shouldn't let someone break me apart or tell me what I can and cannot do because of how I might look, this quote tells me that I can do anything I set my mind into doing. I will also apply this to my life by not making excuses if I can't do something, I will use this knowledge by doing anything that is a challenge,
“Success is not final, failure is not fatal: it is the courage to continue that counts”
P. 15 "God has his mysteries which none can fathom. You, perhaps, will be a king. You can do nothing about it. You, on the other hand, will be unlucky, but you can do nothing about that either. Each man finds his way already marked out for him and he can change nothing of it."
Alexander the Great is undoubtedly one of the most famous leaders and Kings in our history. This one man miraculously led his armies into countless battles and created an empire nearly as large as the Roman Empire. Men and women all over the world have clearly heard of the amazing things that Alexander accomplished in his times; however, the question of whether his deeds were heroic or villainous still remains. To answer this question, Alexander the Great was unmistakably a villain.
In life there will always be someone who says it cannot be done, but that does not always stop an individual from achieving his or her goals in life. Frederick Douglass wrote the article of his life experience, “Learning to Read and Write.” Douglass explains the struggles he went through as a slave just to learn to read and write. During this time period slaves were not taught how to read and write; therefore, he had to do this on his own. Douglass fought a battle of breaking through the ideas that a slave should not and could not be educated. Today many people fight a similar battle to achieve their goals. Many just give in to society as many slaves did in the past. In life people are not always given the opportunities that allow them to advance
This quote shows how God truly wants to see our instinct to believe in Him. Free will, in the end, decides our fate. This is because we do not have a particular path, but we choose it. You could want to be a pro football player one day, then a mathematician the next. You could be
The quote continues “is by thinking they don’t have any.” People give up their power because they are afraid of failure. By thinking they don’t have any power to do something, people tend to give in to what they think|. They give up simply because they think they can not do it.
Philip Freeman is a prolific historian who focuses on the classical era and brings the events of this period to life regardless of whether they are mythical or reality-based. Many prolific biographies and historical renderings mark Freeman’s career as a history professor, including recent works such as Sacrifice: A Celtic Adventure and The World of Saint Patrick among many others. The acclaim associated with his works complements Freeman’s objectivity in his writing, in that he can passionately describe the lives and times of countless historical figures. Even with his vivid approach to historical studies, Freeman’s objectivity is evident in the way he relays historical failures with the same attention that he pays to the accomplishments of the individuals in his
Alexander the Great is the Greatest Throughout history, many great empires have risen up and gained extraordinary amounts of power. These empires gain power through the expansion and the conquest of land and expanding territory. However, in history, it is clear that not all great empires last. The Persian Empire is one of the great empires, which rise to power and then decline gradually over time. The Persian Empire fell due to a number of reasons such as bad leadership and poor military tactics; however, the drastic one of all was caused by one man, Alexander the Great.
When the conversation of who is the greatest general or emperor of all-time, a lot of names come to mind, but one stands above them all. Alexander III from Macedon stands as one if, not the best conqueror the world has ever seen. Alexander is commonly known as “Alexander the Great” for all the great things he was able to accomplish in his life, and is mostly recognized by this name. Alexander was born to be great, as he would go to inherit a great military built by his father Phillip II. Sivi and I have spent a lot of time talking with, and taking care of Senior Citizens on a volunteer basis. Through many conversations, we discovered that one of the major regrets that people have, as the near the end, is that they didn't experience everything that they wanted to when they were younger. The major reason for this was fear. Fear that they would fail or fear that they might be injured. Sivi and I had decided years ago that we would never allow fear to prevent us from trying something new. Now, in our middle and late forties, we had decided to voluntarily jump out of a perfectly good airplane just for the experience of doing so.
Fear comes in many forms, there is fear of embarrassment, failure, and injury. These are the three main fears that keep people from achieving their dreams. I say go for it, if you want to do something don’t let fear get in your way. Follow your dreams, make them come true. If you spend your life living in fear, you won’t accomplish anything, because to achieve your highest goals you must take risks. For example there are some ...
Have you ever wondered why Alexander from Macedonia is called Alexander the Great. According to history, it is because he is the most glorious general in the history who conquered Persia, Greece, Egypt and Babylon in a very inexperienced age. He became the commander of Macedonian armies at age eighteen and the king of Macedonia at age twenty. After six years of preparation, he conquered the great Persian empire. Unfortunately, he died at age thirty-three. He would have conquered many lands if he hadn’t died at a such young age. He was a legend and an icon for great kings like Charlemagne, Julius Caesar, and Pompey. World’s most famous generals tried to compete with him but they couldn’t accomplish. After years, his tomb
" There are some things which even God cannot do. Though it is true he is Omnipotent, yet there are some things he cannot do. God cannot lie—he cannot forsake his
To learn and experience something new and out of your norm can be a pretty scary thing, almost like being in a foreign country and not knowing your surroundings; what do you do? You panic! I can remember clearly an event during my childhood, it was one of the hardest thing I've ever had to do, and that was learning how to rock climb. All my friend’s parents would take them to a nearby gym after school. It was a gym for kids and rock climbing was the cool thing to do. I wanted to go so badly and feel cool, just like my friends, but I was always afraid of heights. Never liked heights as a child, and when I was growing up I was left with that fear. One day I decided to face my fears, and thought to myself that rock climbing was an important skill to have under my belt. Also I thought this was a step closer to overcome my fear and rock climbing was the perfect way to get over that fear. I also knew this would be a great experience and will help me become physically and mentally stronger. What I didn’t realize was that learning to rock climb would also boost my self-esteem and to make me believe in myself more. I always felt on edge when I was faced with a new situation. It made me feel uncomfortable and not quite myself, it still does sometimes. But I knew with my very first rock climbing lesson there weren’t any more excuses! I simply had to face my fear and just do it. There was no going back.
