Personal Essay: My Cousin Tiffany's Life With My Family

In the summer of 2014, my cousin Tiffany stayed with my family and I for a couple weeks until she got back on her feet. It was significant at the time, because my mom and I worked at McDonald’s together and didn’t make a lot of money. I had to beg my mom to let her stay because I wanted to help her out, after all she was family. My mom felt compassionate and agreed to let her stay.

Growing up I always looked up to my cousin, she was an outgoing and beautiful person. She had dark brown hair, green eyes, and was 5’11. As I got older I was able to visit her almost every weekend, we were basically attached at the hip. Spending so much time with her influenced my behaviors and me growing into a young adult. During this time, he would join her to family events such as Tiffany’s sister’s graduation party. The whole family was there, including me of course, and that was the first time Micah was caught stealing. He stole money out of family member’s purses that day. This led to other things coming up missing that my family would not have noticed before. He pawned items from Tiffany’s dad’s house and the family lost total respect for him and started to loose some for Tiffany as well because she stuck by him.
