With the great collaboration between them, Capital was invented and became one of the most important books in the world. When I have some hard problems, I will collaborate with my friends. It not only saves time, but deeps the friendships between us. The third core value I choose is responsibility. I think responsibility is the basic foundation of collaboration. Without responsibility, it is impossible to collaborate with others. If one person does not take their tasks seriously, then the group cannot get a great outcome. Moreover, responsibility reminds me of my parents, teachers, friends, and teammates, all of them who put high expectations on me. Every time I get lazy or tired, responsibility will motivate me to work. Meanwhile, when I make decisions, what I am responsible for always surrounds me. It enables me to realize the potential consequences and what will be changed due to my decisions. The last core value is family. From many case studies, I find family has a big influence on individuals. As the old saying goes, “parents are the earliest and best teachers.” Parents provided elementary knowledge and shaped children’s minds when they were small. When people grow up, family still has a big influence on them. Many
An emergency operations plan for the community in which we live is a document of great importance to each of us whether we know it or not. This paper examines the emergency action plan for Knoxville, Tennessee. In the course of the examination, it will compare and analyze the plan for Knoxville with the standards set forth in the textbook for this course along with other recognized sources in the field of emergency management.
Everyday risks present themselves in various workplaces through a variety of situations. Risk managers have been set in place to establish rules and guidelines by which employees are to follow. Any risk manager would agree that programs are set into place to reduce exposure risks, and provide a safe working environment. The elimination of undesirable outcomes in an emergency setting is critical and should not be taken lightly. Medical facility holds the key to important protocols and needs to work closely with risk management in order to instill cooperation.
Fiction is simple, yet complex, literacy to convey a story with a clear theme. Author Joyce Carol Oates is an excellent example of the use of literary devices in her story to represent a powerful theme. Her story, Where Are You Going, Where Have You Been, is a prime illustration to analyze the literary elements in fiction stories. In Where Are You Going, Where Have You Been, Joyce Carol Oates uses mood shifts, ironic plot, and character foils to exemplify the fatal consequences of naive actions. In Joyce Carol Oates' "Where Are You Going, Where Have You Been," the story is characterized by profound mood shifts that intensify the tension and unease experienced by the protagonist, Connie.
1. I believe one promise that can help improve my team is the concept of needing to improve production techniques and cut costs.
My stakeholders include family, the company I work for, coworkers, friends, and the local community. My family and friends expect success from me, just as I will expect success from them. My co-workers expect positive teamwork skills and dependability. I expect my teammates to be just and
During an emergency such as a hurricane or a large fire that will cause the county to evacuate people out of the area, people with special needs may not be able to evacuate on their own or may need shelter available to them. Special needs, according to Santa Rosa’s Comprehensive Emergency Management Plan (CEMP), is defined as “a categorization given to that segment of the population for whom special arrangements are necessary during emergencies, particularly during shelter operations, due to medical issues, handicaps or other impairments” (CEMP, 2014). Adding in service animals and medical needs can make the transition less than smooth, and ironing out these issues can save lives or avoid chaos amongst the special needs populace.
And more than talking, listening to voices and silences is important; in particular we should pay attention to those who dissent from our point of view. I understand that these issues can be complicated, especially in vertical organizations. But honesty and frankness are necessary and important when it comes to talking about team performance. So to speak it all, speak it well, with frankness, respect and honesty and trying to create the link from the first day, where people do not punish sincerity. On the contrary, trust is created so that problems are solved and not hidden under the

Compassion fatigue is defined as “The emotional residue or strains of exposure to working with those suffering from the consequences of traumatic events” (The American Institute of Stress, n.d.). Compassion fatigue occurs when healthcare workers, especially those who work with patients one-on-one daily, feel the emotional stress of their jobs starting to wear on them. For example, a person who works with a cancer patient and watches that patient worsen and finally pass away, may experience great emotional pain. Dealing with stressful situations over time could also cause compassion fatigue. One way to prevent compassion fatigue is through implementation of Schwartz rounds. “Schwartz rounds are not 'problem solving'. Instead, the focus is on the emotional experiences of staff caring for patients and they allow staff to explore, in an environment that is safe and confidential, situations that confront them.” (Thompson, A. (2013). Schwartz rounds are like support groups for healthcare workers. They allow healthcare providers to share their struggles as caregivers and solve their strugg...
Most health care providers currently utilize electronic health records (EHRs), or will in the coming future. Network collapses, glitches, power outages and flaws within the system all have the possibility of occurring. Due to the plethora of sensitive information contained within the health care field, health care providers need to form backup plans. These backup plans will serve as preventative measures in order to keep the integrity of the health care data intact. Therefore, contingency plans are a clear necessity within the field.
The Seven Habits of Highly Effective People (Covey, 2004) has become the cornerstone of leadership and management wisdom. The habits emphasize personal responsibility and personal leadership. There is challenge in living everyday under the guidance of the habits but there is also great benefit as living the habits can influence everything we do in life. I was introduced to Covey’s seven habits through a one day seminar at my workplace several years ago. I learned some of the terminology and a few of the concepts but never really understood the power of the practical application of the habits. Reading the Covey materials has taught me that life is not about all the tasks that I accomplish but instead about accomplishing the tasks that support what is important to me. Covey has taught me that there are elemental components that are applicable across the many roles that I have in my life. Those universal elements are integrity, vision, discipline, and passion. Embracing these ideas has opened my eyes to the endless applications and benefits of living the seven habits.
Delivering health care to patients involves a team of health professionals from different disciplines. So, in order for different professionals to work effectively as a team, teamwork is essential. However, in a team it is comprised of individuals with different strengths and challenges that will influence teamwork. An individual’s unique strengths can help facilitate teamwork as their strengths will help them function well within the team. Whereas an individual’s challenges may impact the effectiveness of teamwork, but addressing the challenges can prepare them to work efficiently on a team. So, my own strengths, conscientiousness and commitment, will enable me to work well in a team, but my challenges, inept communication skills and mistrust,
