My ability to put my knowledge into application - honed from hours countless of studying Gamemasters' matches - can be seen in school as I built an exciting air-pressure projectile launcher for a physics project. My ability to engage in meaningful thought has helped me when I'm put in stressful situations to remain calm. Chess also trains my imagination. During every game, I feel as if I am a commander in a real war using real tactics. It is what makes the game so exciting! Most importantly though, chess has cultivated my curiosity. As I often ask myself “why did he make that move?” or “what is her next plan?” during games, I also ask “why?” about the universe around me. I want to know what this place is and how it works, and whenever I’ve asked these questions and followed the chain to the end, I’m led to physics. My love for physics is due to it’s ability to explain the “why?” of so many questions.
